ParticipantNah, the ones that go in the covet thread are those with roofs on them and radiant heaters over head keeping the torso height temps at just about 60 degrees in winter.

I think that’s supposed to go in the covet thread

ParticipantThe ride will be this Saturday to take advantage of the promised warm temps ( I have high expectations here weather.com, just sayin ). The Point of Rocks to Harpers Ferry is intriguing, thanks for that suggestion. Have to mull over the survivability of two hours in the car bracketing the ride. Guess I might have to be less grumpy about the hand held games.

ParticipantUnderdressed? This is a different acc we’re talking about here right? :p Glad you’ve survived all of your self destructive tendencies Ann. The forum would lose it’s luster without you, not to mention it’s rhinestones.

ParticipantBeer, coffee, all good when combined with an excuse to get together with the denizens of the WABA forum. 😮 Thats a yes vote for the downtown, daylight location BTW.

ParticipantIs this going to be an Arlington thing or downtown thing?

ParticipantI breath in thru the nose and out thru the mouth, that along with some judicious and repeated adjustment of my face mask ( a re-purposed ear band ) does the job.

ParticipantI would have to confess to a certain willingness to think increasingly badly of drivers as the bulk and ostentatiousness of their vehicles increases. Long black tinted window limos compete with suburban land yachts as objects of scorn and suspicion and most importantly facelessness. Glad to hear of an instance of a reasonable face behind that electric window and thanks for the reminder.

ParticipantBought a pair of the folding baskets for the wife for krismis. I got them locally and only then saw the options on their website. The fitted shopping bags are cute and apparently only available from their site. These are heavy little steel suckers compared to the aluminum racks but they do the grocery shopping trick in a way that panniers don’t.

ParticipantOh my, even the chain. Thats some serious gift wrapping dedication. Anyway
Happy assorted religious and/or cultural holidays to all! 😮

ParticipantWhew, that was close.

Participant1- I want to take more of my grandsons on rides
2- I want to be in more bike traffic jams on ordinary weekdays, not just on major WABA rides
3- I want to routinely find all the bike racks full when I go shopping so I can write a letter to the management asking for more bike parking.

ParticipantLiz, assuming you got the same results from Google that I got it’s all pretty good except the stretch of Arlington Rd. Thats nasty even in daylight and without rush hour. I would suggest the west lane sidewalk of Woodmont until you get north of Old Georgetown. Other than that it looks ok. That stretch of the Trolley trail along Rockville Pike is a real smugness builder as it’s always a six lane parking lot come 6 pm on Friday. 😮
Unless of course your freezing your ass off.

ParticipantPosted at 9:17 AM . Now from our reporter Eminva live on the scene – major lane hazard on Key Bridge. Cycle traffic backed up for yards. More at 11. Stay tuned to WABA / Bike Arlington for Cycle News as it happens.
Ain’t this forum wunnerful?
