That sounds very nice! I hope you’ll post pics when it arrives.

    Rule 5, btj, rule 5. :-)

I wonder what the real Haul A Day weight is, as the stock model doesn’t include fenders, kickstand, footrests, rack top panel, etc.

The Fr8 rear seat platform looks dicey. Way too much is behind the rear axle.

I’d pull the wheel and check how freely the cassette spins. Is the bike kept in a heated space?

Dangit, doesn’t CaBi know some of us have been counting on them for Freezing Saddles snow miles?

True. Ingress & egress are possible without a helmet.

We have a Mundo which we like. We removed the child seat when kid2 was 3.5yo, switched to the Yuba hold-on (very similar to BF’s whoopde un option). It’s been fine though we have not taken him out on exhausting trips where we feared dozing off. I like that the minimal bar allows kid2 to mount & dismount by himself. The wraparound bars I’ve seen from Yuba and Xtracycle wouldn’t allow that. Neither, it seems, would the BF whoopde deux.

A nice thing about the Boda Boda and, I expect, the Haul a Day is that it’s short enough front-back for taking on MetroRail. The Mundo spec is an inch to long; IIRC the Xtracycle Edgerunner is longer than the Mundo despite the small rear wheel.

Boeshield T-9 on all exposed steel hardware as a prophylactic measure — stainless will rust. Keep the chain well lubed. Wipe down rims and rim brake pads occasionally with a rag.

One viable technical option: make private subforums and only make them accessible to registered, logged in users who have requested and been granted access. vBulletin will hide activity from anonymous lurkers and users who don’t have access.

That said, I think it’s best for teams to huddle on Strava and only use this site to taunt their competition.

Has anyone talked with Alexandria staff about cleaning up the parking lot between Mt Vernon Ave and the soccer field? The new asphalt is nice but that parking lot has been rough every time I’ve ridden through lately.

    Great, thanks!

I’d love just some good patterns, having finally laundered the fleece I bought months ago so I could make color coordinated headgear.

Another USPS success story here. I keep the bands with my helmet, and they have helped me remember to start and stop Strava to avoid manual data entry.

Tip for the Android phone users: add the Strava widget to a home screen, it saves time and effort over using the app to record, which is especially nice when it’s so chilly out. Also: when done, tap Stop and then you can tap Finish when you’re inside, warm, and have WiFi.

    Thank you, Steve!

Sigh. I think it’s been a year since I pointed out to that Safeway’s management that their wheelbender violates City guidelines in both design and placement (their SUP required installing bike racks in compliance with the city’s bike parking standards). :-(

You can get a “USB battery” and connect it to the phone with a charging/syncing cable. Something like one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Description=USB%20battery%20pack&Submit=ENE
