As for coverage, British Eurosport has the best — Rob Hatch and Matt Stephens are head and shoulders above their normal Eurosport compatriots over on BeIN. Plus the insights of Juan Antonio Flecha are awesome, though I could do without Ashley House.

Awesome things like: https://eurosport.yahoo.com/video/giro-extra-flecha-rides-giro-133117053.html out of Flecha.

Catching up… Seem to be 2 days behind all week. Should be caught up for Friday. So far, all I have to say is – Domenico Pozzovivo .
Not so impressed with ToC this year. Vuelta a Catalunya / Vuelta a Andalucia / Tour of Romandie were much better races than the ToC has been.

not only did i get a couple bike rides in yesterday, i also got to take my first ride in an ambulance! been wanting to ride in a vehicle with lights and sirens since i was a little kid, though perhaps not under these circumstances…

hozn – i was told to reach out to you as we now have an opening for a cat5 on the team (at least for 6 weeks or so…)

Lets just say that the adrenaline rush of having the sea of crashers part right in front of me allowing me to skate through skidding my rear wheel was quickly deflated when I looked over and saw you on the ground.

    Heal up fast buddy!

This will be the third year I’ll be riding it, I go down the day before and ride around a bit — last year Team Dire Wolf lead a warm up ride on the Saturday before. Since there’s some sort of college graduation around town that time of year, I end up out in Appomattox. Still the best supported century I’ve ridden, other than the one where my wife drove sag wagon on my Skyline Drive double.

Price. Fixies don’t have the overhead of derailleurs and brifters, and are usually made of metal (alloy / steel).
Style. Because the price is low, it’s cheap to customize parts/colours/etc.
Badassery. Being on a fixie in NoVA with the hills will always get you a nod of appreciation from serious cyclists.

Yeah, the 13 mile climb of Thunder Ridge is enough to make anyone regret riding the day before! Enjoy the ride. It is a beautiful route and a very well run event. If you happen to see the event organizer (Paula Dahl), tell her that Casey says hi!

I love Paula, she is awesome. You can tell that she so loves what she’s doing, though you know she really wants to be out there riding with everyone.

Yea, I ride the next day down in Lynchburg for the Storming of Thunder Ridge. Folks that I’ve encountered @Thunder Ridge that were doing the back-to-back weekend spoke highly of the event, but were quickly regretting trying to do them back to back once they started up Thunder Ridge.

The linked article says “sometime this summer”. We could always do a MCC in an interim location. MCCI/MCCII/etc…

Was going to suggest Urban Pantry but they’ve just recently closed :/
I don’t think that Beanetics is close to any commuting routes…
Cafe Kindred isn’t quite open yet…
    Dolcezza / Tobi’s / Pastry Xpo rotating?

The Luther is worth getting over to GBD for if you’re in Dupont Circle *and* they’re open:

I agree, it looks like a really good bike. I can’t find that bike at any of the Alexandria/Arlington shops that carry Specialized, but I reached out to Bicycle Pro shop to check since they don’t list their stock online. Hopefully they do.

Spokes Etc. should have the Sirrus in stock, just not sure at which shop.
