Did everyone stop playing/watching this game or are my posts really that terrible? Or maybe I’m just not a likable person? This game was on a roll, what happened? I like having destinations for lunch rides.

Had a much more pressing Calvinball find than for the Salad Days item.

What I had wanted to do there was to look beyond the obvious (9:30 club/etc) and look towards Dischord Records (in Ian’s house on Beecher St), other venues (Madam’s Organ in Adam’s Morgan) or the roots of Bad Brains off R Street. I remember a time where the only place in DC that you could buy any of these albums (other than at a show) as either ElectroLux on M St, the GWU book store, or the Tower Records near GWU. That or to flush out any memorabilia (I have some Fugazi tickets and LPs that I was going to work into a shot)… but alas, gametime is short and I’ve got better things to do… :)

On Pentagon route
A park named after a bridge
Under a raised path

On the way from WTF Coffee went out mark,
Into headwinds stiff and stark,
Staying off NPS lands,
I fumbled with my hands,
And the Phoenix ball sits in Long Bridge Park.

A limerick I endeavored to write
About a knight filled with fright
To tell the tale of the ball
Hidden for y’all
But whole foods hid my post from the light.

Tree near fire house trail
On the bank of four mile run
Nivlac Llab is hid.

Well played good sir.

I have failed in the quest.

Running away eh?

Honestly, was I the only one to see the Acura SUV parked in Bon Aire park at the Picnic grounds tonight? I wasn’t hallucinating?

Nivlac Llab acquired. I just didn’t look hard enough the first or second or third time.

Swag consumed on site and shared with a friend.

Some swag removed, claimed, eaten, bagged back up…

Some swag added and some left in for others.

And as to the quest, Bravely Bold Sir Robin failed the quest.

(And it wasn’t for lack of trying… holy crap that quest is difficult).
I intend to hide the Nivlac Llab near the Gate of the Ire of Phoenix, as to facilitate the ease of attempting the quest. I think your award of 50 points is to low!

New Proposed Rule: The Hobbes Prize is to be awarded to the person whom played but scored the least amount of points.

Proposed rule: The curse of Mr. Creosote: If someone finds or is in possession of more than one ball in the same day or at the same time, all points gained from all finds associated are applied negatively.

Wanted to go do the Tunnel du Parpaillon (from the south side, not the side he describes from Embrun), but decided to ride up the Col de Vars instead, since the road was closed to cars on that Monday… The climb up to Sainte-Anne la Condamine was still nasty… averaged about 8% the entire way. I did see some pietons going off for a march up there though. The tunnel was officially closed at the time too :/

If not for the short sightedness of the AT&T contingent whom were dead set on circuit switching, the history of the internet would be vastly different. A friend described to me presenting his TCP/IP stack for the UNIVAC at a conference and getting grilled by someone from Western Union. Imagine if some University employee’s software given away for free was going to put your entire corporation’s plans for the future in the dustbin of history.
