The garage would be a step up from the dog house…
But, seriously, I am a veteran—I went straight to grovel and lived to ride again.

    Was a mistake.
Took the wrong set of two wheels and sat in traffic and roasted in my leathers without ever hitting speeds that would have justified the gear.
Lesson learned. On a fixie tomorrow for sure.

OneEighth sighting this morning on Custis. At first I saw a mustache then everyone else came into focus.

You spotted the moustache and I recognized you by the handlebar bag. Who says accessories don’t matter?

Guess they must not have had the little “Bivens” discussion.

I would be happy to go with you. Seriously.

I would think that Bike Arlington would have a dog in this fight, too.

Alternately, you could go have a talk with a member or two of the county board who are into the whole ‘bike friendly community’ thing and ask them to put you in touch with someone at Arlington PD who understands that this behavior was off-message and is able to take department-wide corrective action.

I leave my suits n’ stuff at the office and bring in shirts and Underoos everyday. I probably don’t get my suits pressed as much as I should, but it isn’t like I’m sweating 24/7 working at my computer. Also, big plug for Charles Tyrwhitt no-iron dress shirts. Jos A. Banks’ shirts are a boondoggle of fals advertising.

C.T. shirts are decent if you buy the black label shirts—otherwise, get used to some serious shrinkage.

Come on, fellas—the only base layer allowed under your bibs is the one you grow.

Was that you waiting patiently on the corner? Meant to say thanks for scootching forward so I could get past the never-ending construction, but ended up too focused on the runner in front of me.

You mean you don’t believe he was just trying to match his revs for a cleaner shift?

    You: Vecchio’s of Colorado jersey
Me: Still laughing at you for taking the Drink of Shame after failing to drop me while I called out every pass you would not for several miles on the MVT this morning. Bit perplexed why you felt the need to screech at those women joggers about staying to the right given how you didn’t seem to need the room when you passed me earlier without warning and a bit too close while I was passing another rider.
Anyway, we both know what you finally reaching for your water bottle signified—it was a fail.
Think about that next time you pass like an ass.

Much appreciated. This bike most definitely needs a steering damper when loaded. Half tempted to rig something with a motorcycle damper.
Wish I had just taken the day off so I could hang out longer at both of the coffee stops—I almost never make it to them.

And the grips match the saddle.
    These things matter.
