I use track drops on both my bikes. Nice and narrow. Not having hoods hasn’t been a problem—just look at it as a chance to improve core strength.

I had bullhorns for a while and really liked them especially for climbing but eventually had to switch back to drop bars because my wrists started to hurt.
I used a bar end lever for the bullhorns and was happy with it. Might even have an extra lying around if you need it, neighbor.

But why did RCannon100 cross the road?

    Weakness is always near—lurking patiently.

I suspect that the eagle(?) perched above Hains Point was motionless because it was frozen in place.
Either that, or it was watching me for signs of weakness.

If/when you adjust or replace your cleats (i.e. you re-tighten down the screws), it is a good idea to check up on them after the first ride. Cleat screws like to come loose. Loctite is a good idea, though I usually just use grease (to prevent the screws and plate from fusing/rusting together) and retighten them after install. It usually just requires one readjustment and then they are fine.

Just another regular maintenance item. Honestly, you should give everything a periodic once over—bike and gear.
Plus one for grease instead of locktite.

I just got that a couple weeks ago. The erg gets the most use of anything down there right now–pulled front and center and hooked up to RowPro on the computer. I’ve even got it so that the output files can be uploaded to Strava, complete with power profile: http://www.strava.com/activities/108400185

I’ve gotta pick your brain about rowing in the area sometime…

Very nice. C2 has an app and mount/cable combo that lets you use your phone to record data, too.
Most clubs should be back on the water by April 1st, meaning that any organizing meetings will be mid-March. But there are other options as well. We’ll talk.

The erg looks a bit neglected in the far corner like that.

Oddly enough, after a long spell of not seeing vehicles on the trail, I saw a park service pickup enter the trail and head west toward the 50 underpass a little before 5:30 yesterday evening and another, commercial, pickup also heading west by the 50 underpass a little before 6:30 this morning.

I think I’ve hit my recommended yearly salt intake from riding in the street. On the plus side, it sure helps ward off a sore throat!
The stache is now more salt than pepper.
