ParticipantI felt a bit like Cinderella when I successfully got my reconstructed foot into my Sidi for this morning’s ride.
It’s good to be back.OneEighth
ParticipantGot my backpack ready for tomorrow morning’s commute.
Why, yes, Doc—I did have my boot on me while riding.

ParticipantI think people know perfectly well what they are doing. It’s just another example of an all-elbows, me-first attitude. The fact that some of them may no longer even pause to think through what they are doing doesn’t change a thing—it just underscores how much of a lost cause they are.
That having been said, unless someone starts to seriously impact my ride, I’m with Subby on this.
After all, can’t fix stupid, but you absolutely can control how you react to what happens around you.OneEighth

Yes, it was reported to the Park Police (who responded with two patrol cars to the 911 call); one of the officers has the video as well as screen shots from it.
Excellent.
Sure hope someone is able to ID the perp.
More importantly, I hope the injured riders recover fully and quickly.August 19, 2014 at 3:55 pm in reply to: Help ID this guy — caused a bike crash sending 2 to hospital #1008280OneEighth

Making the analogy to driving in traffic, one cannot just put on the turn signal and move left into the next lane. It is always the responsibility of the car making the move (passing, changing lanes, etc.) to make certain it is safe to do so first. Likewise with this cyclist. Since he is making the move, it is his responsibility to make certain it is safe to do so. He did not.
The hit and run, however, is the far more egregious crime. IMO, if found he should be prosecuted just the same as a driver in a hit and run.
Which gets at my question — has this been reported to the authorities? It’s a hit and run with injuries. On film.

Oh no you di-int. Does you doctor know?
He said something about “stationary” bike… But, really, is it my fault that the bike moves when I pedal?

One of the downsides of the “Pictures and Videos” section of the Forum is you get a bunch of jerks criticizing all your gear (. . .and your riding style and your clothes and your safety practices and your tire inflation and your photography skills . . . .)
Guess it’s a good thing I choked off my comment that the pic posted by TwoWheels makes me want to spend the day doing push-ups and pull-ups…
