ParticipantHey Bobco! I just found out that my son’s coming to visit that weekend, so….. I’m probably not gonna be doing bike MS then after all. (I hate fundraising anyhow….I’m on track with the training, though!)
I’m not much of a morning person either (the only reason I don’t go to the coffee clubs with all you awesome people!) But I can do it once in awhile, and I was planning to do it that day for bike MS anyhow….. I live about a mile and a half from the EFC metro, so I’m gonna plan to meet you there!

Sorry Consular!
I planned this ride to coincide with NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY! Which is June 2d.Note that on Friday, June 2d Dunkin Donut will let you pick out one FREE DOUGHNUT if you purchase a beverage.
Going a step farther, Krispy Kreme will give you one free doughnut if you ask, no purchase necessary. Some of the local Krispy Stores:
Alexandria 6332 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA, 22306
Capitol Heights 8703 Central Ave, Capitol Heights, MD, 20743
Manassas 9870 Liberia Ave, Manassas, VA, 20110
Rockville 14919 Shady Grove Road, Rockville, MD, 20850
Washington 1350 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC, 20036Local Dunkins– too many to list.
Think of National Doughnut Day as a mild warm up for the Epic Ride on Saturday afternoon! e
Hey edelweiss! I don’t known how to pm anyone on this forum, but I’m interested in joining this ride. Did you decide where it’s starting?
I hope you see this!

ParticipantThe ride is set for Saturday, 9am Bluemont, and THIS ROUTE (Millie’s suggestions have now been added)

Everyone’s invited! And RSVPs are good…. Here is okay and Lynn’s email is maybe even better: mathtree@icloud.com

PS — This is the 2nd of two threads about this ride because I wanted one whose title said Saturday and couldn’t figure out how to change the title of the post. I will be checking both for RSVPs and trail updates….March 17, 2017 at 5:11 am in reply to: Ride to Lake Artemisia on St Patrick’s Day (Lynn S leading) #1068213Nadine

ParticipantUpdated from Lynn:
The weather is not with us for riding to Lake Artemesia on Friday. Iโm hearing about ice on the trails. I want to give it one more day for trails to clear up so Iโm moving the ride to Saturday.*The forecast is for high of 53 and partly sunny.*Everything else is the same. I realize this means some folks who told me they were in canโt do it now and I apologize. Please RSVP again.*

ParticipantHmmmm the list of stops on the ride on tapatalk is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the one I replied to last night on the WABA forum, which said leaving at NOON and duck donuts was the first stop after HP. I would have met you guys elsewhere if I’d seen the above route. Why are they not the same?

ParticipantThanks Millie! I don’t suppose you might be free to join us to ride that day??? SOmeone I was riding with today said that’s your stomping grounds — and it sure isn’t ours! We’ve been struggling with this route for years….and usually end up having a lot of map breaks.
And for ANYONE interested in joining the ride — please RSVP to Lynn S at: mathtree@icloud.com
I will try to remember to check here — she’s pretty sure she’ll forget….Nadine

ParticipantI’m gonna try to meet up with Lynn on her way to the ride start. I do have a beer question, though it’s probably not interesting enough to qualify for nerd status…..
It looks like we can get tastes — I’m not sure what those are, but they sound good. I’ll be looking for something smaller than the usual pint– more like a quarter pints…. Idk if that’ll be possible, but you might, Steve….I wanna try everyone’s IPA! But I can drink 1-1.5 beers/day, tops (or pieces of bread — it’s a gluten thing) Not to mention it’d be interesting seeing me try to bike home after having had much more than that…. I bet there will be an easy way around this — the gluten thing might be a bit different, but the lightweight drunk thing must be common. I’ll bring snacks to share.
Also, if you like IPA I might ask for your personal recommendations. (That’s not a beer nerd question either…. Maybe you could be convinced to tell us beer nerdly facts even if we can’t find the questions…..I’m curious now.)
LOoks like a cool ride! Thanks for leading it!

Thanks for arranging the tickets, SarahBee!
Here’s the route: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/1468315714. There are several options for joining the ride:
— Meet at 12:15 p.m. at the Jimmy John’s at 7410 Baltimore Ave. in College Park if you’d like to get lunch before the ride.
— Meet at 1:00 p.m. at the College Park Aviation Museum.
— Meet at 2:15 p.m. at Philz Coffee in Navy Yard. The ride will be about 29 miles if you’re starting in College Park, and about 16 miles if you’re joining us in Navy Yard. If you’re Metroing to the ride start, both the Jimmy John’s and the Aviation Museum are close to the College Park Metro, and Philz is close to the Navy Yard Metro. If you’re a Virginia rider worried about getting lost in the wilds of Murriland and want to convoy from Arlington/Alexandria to the ride start, PM me.
Idk how to PM here either, but I’d be interested in convoying from VA….I think. How early do you think we’d hafta leave?
It looks like the ride comes back to Arlington/Alexandria — is that right? I wouldn’t be joining for the movie, just the ride.Nadine
ParticipantThose are awesome!
