Covering your face can help. There’s a blood constriction reflex that’s very strong when cold hits your face – heart rate shoots up on low efforts, things get hard.

My singlespeed adventures are usually dirt-centric, and the mud takes a while to dry out this time of year. !

I have disappeared off the leader board. Before today’s ride I was #20 and this evening I’m no where to be found. I think I should have about 912 points (11 days, 307 miles). Anyone know what the problem might be? My team still doesn’t have a Strava Club for me to join.

I bet that’s exactly the problem, as soon as you join a team Strava Club you’ll be back on all of them.

Yes! I really enjoy riding my fixed gear after midnight when everything is so quiet.

Well, I really can’t talk about quiet with the Kona above, since that tensioning pulley also gives everything a clockwork whirrring noise.

But I can with the Raleigh fixie :D only I much prefer riding up behind people and saying ‘passing’ just to see if they even heard me – by seeing how far they jump.

Oh man, I love this idea. Big thanks to Alan Adams for flagging this for me. Didn’t see in the PP Dropdown.

I’ve got this amazing SS with 650b’s that glide so effortlessly and take on all the small little trails that connect the neighborhoods and have an absolute blast on this bike. Will upload some photos next ride.

This is exactly what I use my Kona for – 26″ of course.

Gee, I notice in Google Maps that Clare & Don’s is only a 15.2 mile ride from Bethesda via Crescent Trail and the W&OD… :p

Less than that by way of Chain Bridge :( but there’s a couple of fun hills to wheeze on. ;)

Thirded. Works great. And the air pressure keeps the foam down.

And, in the summer, you can keep the sprayer in the car for after-ride gravel dust rinsedowns/pseudo showers.

I’m in, short of last-minute emergencies.

Maaaaaaaaaybe. Sadly it’s the same night and time as the Potomac Pedalers’ ExCom meeting that I’m supposed to attend.

    Make the minutes take seconds?

Does this mean that the concrete waterside walkway is being completely abandoned for pedestrian use?

As noted, your Zwift rides will not count towards FS points. It is highly encouraged that you stop doing that and go ride outside instead. :)

But, but, but, just imagine the carpet and lino handling skills!
