I ride clipped in on my fixed. There is no reason to take your feet off the pedals. So I don’t think it is a big deal being clipped. Its nice using one pair of shoes for n+1 bikes.

So my wife is planning on joining me for this event. I may be switching to the 35 mile ride to have the opportunity to ride with her. Hope to meet some forum members there.

Successful first trip this past Sunday morning – my 11s and I biked out to Vienna to probably the best coffee shop in the area – Caffe Amouri. We made it fun and took main roads to Cedar Lane and then hopped on the WOD. It was a chilly morning – perfect for a hot beverage at the midpoint of the trip. We took a nice relaxed pace on the way home, staying on the WOD until Great Falls St.. It gave us a good opportunities to shoot the breeze, although one of my guys was nutso after his dopio espresso machiatto or whatever the F he got and P.E.D.Cycled as fast as he could for a few miles.

Big thanks to Liz for clueing me in to that place! Pictured below – trip documentation, bedhead:

I saw these three guys out at where the c&o and cct cross. Was going to try to say hi but I had to pee too bad.

I think I’ll get the Light and Motion Urban 550 light. Based on the “how bright is that light” website someone on here shared once, it seems like the best light for my ~$100 budget. If you think I have a better option though, let me know!

The bontrager 700 is a better value at a 100 bucks. I am sure a trek dealer isn’t far from you. You can also check out the cree lights on amazon. They are much cheaper but the battery is external.
For a 100 you could have 3 cree lights.

I will be driving from Germantown if anyone wants a ride.
The silver lining for me is there is less climbing on this than 30 miles around here.

I signed up for the metric century. We will see how this turns out for me. I have never rode more than 44 miles.
    Should be fun

And now I can see when I get home in the dark. If I keep this up, the bike area will be the nicest part of the house!

    Whats next bike washing station?
