Few years ago when the temperatures were soaring I did a ride on my trek 29er marlin MTB to bethesda from n arl. My camelbak ran out of water quickly and on the rosslyn hill climb back I stopped on custis to answer a phone call.

Shortly thereafter two riders stopped and asked if I was okay due to the heat. That was nice of them, from then on I always make a habit of doing a double take on stopped riders to see if they’re okay and need help.

Took the long way in this morning and was rewarded with a few sightings and latching on to some fast, but scary riders. These two guys were hauling and sticking real close together, but there was tons of wheel overlap and one sat in the middle of the trail most of the time. Definitely some dicey passes, but a good pace.

Also got to see the pfar on MVT!

Now that’s a loud bike! Those front wheel tubes must be special order.

I see bike arl’s fb cover photo has been updated appropriately too :)

I think we need to figure a way to have the ‘Dale ‘Hood sponsor its own special Happy Hour. How come we dont have more one eight sightings of each other?

I agree we should do our own Cherrydale happy hour on the side. We don’t have more one eighth sightings of each other since I don’t know what you look like! The happy hour should solve that.

To be fair, we have little excuse to miss this Thursday’s happy hour — It’s one of closest bars to the ‘hood. (fun fact: Cherrydale residents have repeated voted a bar/pub as the #1 new business they want to see on Lee Hwy). Maybe we could do one at Thirsty Bernie? Or the Carriage House (ha ha ha).

Oh, and yes, we live right behind that building (bike around the block and guess which house). We LOVE kiterunner. I really hope it makes it — the food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, they’re SO CLOSE and they just started free delivery (over $20).

Kiterunner delivers now?! Good to know I’ve only been there once since they opened recently and the food was great.
Thirsty Bernie sounds good, but I’d rather go to Circa Clarendon or Lyon Hall — if alcohol is not a requirement then Randolph’s pastries or Cassatt’s should do fine.
