You may wish to try riding to Purcellville and back via the W&OD for century training. You can’t get lost, there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments, and lots of cyclists to wave to and meet. Just be sure to check the weather forecasts carefully for thunderstorms (which we seem to be plagued with this year – sigh).

Late last season I made it out to Rockville for the first time and was blown away by the northern part of the Rockcreek park trails and the Bethesda trolly trail! (Last summer was also a first for Sligo and MacArthur to Potomac, MD). I’m definitely interested in recommendations!
As for Purcellville, I was thinking about doing that for my last big ride before the century! The furthest I’ve gone on W&O was Gallows Rd… I need to find a good restroom option :confused:

FYI, you are the third trail kitty documented on this forum. The others are both orange tabbies – “Hobo” hangs out on the W&OD east of Rt. 50, and “Blue” is seen on the Bluemont Junction near the intersection with the W&OD. I don’t know if you are an orange tabby too, but that would be a cool coincidence.
