This cute little [emoji210] nose is a cone. What will I do when holiday decorations are gone?Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t find a cicada husk as a holiday decoration, so no loss on that one! LOL

Alexandria, VirginiaWhile the library is decorated in cacti, a couple of the books reflect our current weather. The children’s book “The First Day of Winter” and the adult book “White Out” should set the mood for some lucky readers.
That looks like it should be here, in El Paso, where I am!

I found this one at the corner of Merridale Blvd. and Flower Ave. in Mt. Airy, MD. And, yes. I finally figured out how to find the exact coordinates, but that takes too much effort. I don’t care if I win, I just like playing along.
There were quite a few books for expectant mothers. I did not take one of those! Also a fair number of kiddie books.

Alan, your address references (corner of … ) are just fine. I gave people the option of using coordinates in case the LFL’s don’t show an apparent address.

This local high school was built BEFORE the Harry Potter books, so it predates Hogwarts! It’s so fanciful. I guess when you’re homecoming royalty here it really means something. And their mascot is, of course, the Knights.

I’m honestly surprised there aren’t more “tardis” LFL’s! There’s one near my home (Fox Mill if anyone’s paying attention) that is red with a tab on the side that says 9 3/4 ….

It’s a really cute one with a flower pot on top and stained glass books decorating the inside. Several Stephen King novels, a few text books. Could definitely use some books for older children. I borrowed the book about that rogue panda that Eats, Shoots & Leaves to show a punctuation-phobic family member. I’ll have to restock next time. The bag underneath has a note from someone giving away free cloth masks that they sewed! There are individually wrapped masks inside.
I so love this. LFL’s have inspired so many other community building ideas (i.e., LF Pantries) and yet, they seem to be controversial in regards to gentrification. I personally think that anything that gets people out interacting with their community is a great thing. Evidence of LFL’s making a difference is when they’re full of books that people would WANT to read! Thanks Indiana!

ParticipantAhh…organization. You and I might be soulmates in the organization aisle.
Thanks for highlighting the books on infertility. We never know what difficult roads others are riding. Ride on!

Once I got over thinking the sides needed to be equal, I started seeing them everywhere. Nonetheless, inspired by Chris’s radar dome in Spain (I think that’s what that is), I rode out to get a soccer ball photo on a local store.

ParticipantSophie, the strava hashtag will get you the basic participation points. The extra stuff needs the photo here so I don’t have to look at every strava entry as well.
If you’re having trouble uploading photos, check with some of the admins. They’re way more knowledgeable than I am!

ParticipantWhy oh why didn’t this snow come on Christmas eve? This looks SO Christmas-y. Although the locked part of it is definitely in violation of the spirit of LFL!
Not dinging you for it Boomer, but maybe the cafe.

ParticipantFinally! I found a Little Free Library here! My mom remembered it being “near the church on a street that starts with K”. I rode up and down Kilkenny, and Killarney, and finally found it on “Cork” … same sound anyway. It even had a little solar panel on the other side to light the inside. It had two shelves. The top one held a bunch of kids books lying on their sides.
And argh – I’m remembering about the pain in the butt posting a photo in the forum can be. From now on, only vertical photos. Sigh.

Participant1/4/2022 Right Triangle
Like others, I found many to choose from. These right triangles are on the windows of the newly renovated gym of the high school from which I graduated many years ago. The crowning achievement of this school was in 1976 when the young players pictured won the state championship in basketball. So in 2019 when they renovated the school, they created this wall from a photo of back in the day. Makes me a little sad that no one thinks anything important has happened since 1976, but well, there you go. El Paso, Texas.
