ParticipantAwesome! I was thinking about goals this weekend:
Going back to that old post here is what I said:
Goal for 2013 — 3500 miles. — I’m a little ahead of this. And it is all your fault (see Freezing Saddles below). Yesterday I got my 3,000th (well 3000.8 but who is counting) according to Strava.

Non-distance bike-related goals:
1. Stop lurking on the forum and post — this is post one so I can say one resolution accomplished! I’m now a “regularly contributing member”.
2. Commute through winter. I got an Ogre and can get snow tires if needed …. Will sign up for Freezing Saddles shortly. — Done and done. I was even awarded the “Queen of the World” prize. Can’t wait for next year!
3. Ride a Century (Ok, I guess that is distance related). — Not yet but looking at the Culpepper Century in October.KayakCyndi
ParticipantMaybe I’ll mount the fenders this weekend …. If I do that the forecast should clear up.

ParticipantFortunately they just opened a market/bar in my building where I can wait out the storm.

ParticipantYep, Beagles and Bagels is still on. Today was a smaller than normal bunch. The beagles didn’t show up but Dickie, our fearless leader, and others of us were there.

So… what’s YOUR favorite weather app?
One? I frequent Weather.com, Washington Post Weather Gang, and Weather Underground. I keep looking until I find one that says something I like and go with it. Not always the best strategy …

Anyone going to this tonight?
I’m out. Have a going away BBQ later at the Washington Canoe Club. Thus I plan on spending my time swimming in the river rather than swimming on my bike.

You got the hybrid out. What do you think? Any decisions about which bike you will take for the trip?

ParticipantHere is the end result.

Medium sized gates with a gap in the middle wide enough for several bikes but not cars. Padlocks which open gates for park service and other access. Doesn’t look bad now. Wonder if it will cause a bottleneck as riders try to exit the trail in the mornings.

Yup, I’ll be crossing key around 5:15. It’d be great if you can join, anyone else? I can meet in the key bridge marriott parking lot.
Its looking doubtful I’ll make it but miracles could still happen. If I’m not at the Key Bridge Marriott parking lot by 5:20 ride without me.

ParticipantI’ve been watching the RAAM reports and Ride the Line videos on http://www.ridefarther.com/every night. And the live tracking feature is super cool. These people are absolutely insane … in a good way I think. Christoph Strasser is flying. Less than an hour from Annapolis now!

Reminder for tomorrow night’s ride, Dirt’s out of town but the ride is still on. It’s a good way to extend your commute home.
Hmmm … Any chance you are going and are going to ride there from DC? If you are, and IF (big IF) I can sneak out of work, I’d meet you at Key Bridge.
