In! Last year was so awesome. Freezing Saddles kept me on the bike all winter and, in fact, got me so used to riding that I haven’t been able to stop yet!

Kill Bill, Powhattan Dirty 200 and Total200 in successive weekends?

    So that means:

    Kill Bill — May 24/25
    Powhattan Dirty 200 — May 31/June 1
    Total 200 — June 7

I’m in for Powhattan … if there is a scaled down 100 mile option.

On my commute in this AM, I saw someone still out on the Gravelly Point CX course as I rode past around 7:45. Appeared to be the last person out. Hope you all had fun!

That was me. The boys all got there at 6:30 which was just WAY to early for me. I got there at 7 and rode a few laps with them and a few without them. That grass and those turns were SLICK this morning. Great fun!

Yep, those gates. I call it the gate to nowhere since it only leads onto the grass.

I’ll be there but likely not by 6:30. If no one is at the gate when I get there I’ll start riding the course. Its not like you can actually get lost, lose the trail yes, get lost no.

I’m in and 7(ish) works for me. I know the route but am fairly sure you all will ride it faster than me.

    Meet at the gate?

We decided to ride a little of the GAP trail on our way back from Pittsburgh to DC today. Not exactly what we expected but oh so much fun! More pics and video to come when I’ve got feeling back in all my fingers!

Almost completely dry this morning. Most of the precipitation was water blowing off the trees. At least when it’s this cold, I can wear my rain gear like a normal layer without sauna-fying myself. Also, I saw only two other people on bikes between Westover and Foggy Bottom.

Ditto. Nobody was out. I saw two people between EFC and Georgetown which is pretty incredible. Hope that means everyone is getting a jump on the Thanksgiving weekend.

I’m still bitter about losing out on the cool (nepalese?) lunch box, though. :p

It was from India and I really thought you’d win it! Alas no current plans to go back this Feb/March.

In my rush to avoid standing out in my cold shed, I forgot to put my helmet on this morning…wearing a skullcap + balaclava gave my head the same sensation as wearing a helmet, so I didn’t notice it until I was halfway to work. I did not die and the earth did not fly off its axis.

Just more proof that bikes are best kept just inside the front door!

Wool under WindStopper seems to the be recipe that keeps me warm.

Then just add some of the prize categories up front

As the reigning Queen of the World, who this year has more modest travel plans, I volunteer to pass my crown. The prize will go to the world traveler who logs rides on the most continents other than our own. If there is a tie the prize will go to the rider who earned the most KOMs/QOMs (assuming strava) on those rides.

I needed some nature before heading to, what is sure to be, another silly day in the office. Work might be nuts but the canal is lovely. Only bad part was turning around and coming into the office.

Nashbar right now has Candy 2s for $50, and entry-level Eggbeater 1s for $35/Mallet 1s for $30 and free shipping on >$50.

Tempting but given that I’d have to buy new pedals for three bikes and new cleats for two sets of shoes I think I’ll find some double-sided SPDs. Also I like the platform/SPD combos I have on the Masi and Ogre as both get ridden in something other than cycling shoes frequently.

Nasbar has the Shimano Deore XT PD-M780 Mountain Pedals on sale for $66. Would those work?
