Sure Spring in DC. Snow today and then this for tomorrow:

Day Mar 26 Mostly Sunny / Wind
37°F High
Wind: NW 19 mph.
Windy with a few clouds from time to time. Cold. High 37F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph.

Sounds like Spring to me.

Today I’m taking a rest day off the bike. Maybe tomorrow too …

Fun fact: If your team biked its handicap, your final score would be ~13,750.

Cycling filled with over achievers (and hyper-competitive types)!

Does anyone else find it interesting that the two teams with the most women are the teams that will finish first and second? So proud of my “girls”.

Girl power rocks! And it probably points to the fact that many of the women who ride have a tendency to be just a little type A!

And Rod, OF COURSE, you should be in this game! You’re the best captain ever. (Note I have an admittedly small small sample size, I’ve been lucky enough to be on his team both years:D. I’ll try to rig it that way again next year too!).

That was such a crappy ride and it stayed below freezing overnight, so I decided to just take Metro the following morning. One of only two times I’ve done that since.

Let me get this straight. You have only missed two days of bike commuting since 2007?!! I had great respect for your riding prowess before but now I’m truly in awe! I think I’ll just keep this in mind when I next think of bailing on the bike (like say next Monday perhaps).

Success!

123.6-115.0 =8.6 lbs =7.0%

With a week to spare.

That is impressive! It is hard to lose that much weight when you are so light to start. Great job!

And… go to the source: NOAA.GOV. In the words of the Profit Paul Simon:

“I don’t believe what I read in the papers
They’re just out to capture my dime”

Commercial news sources like to sensationalize to keep you addicted and keep coming back. I find NOAA.gov far more accurate and far less sensational.

True enough but if we all did that we won’t be able to pass the working hours planning our survival!

What’s the word on MVT/4MR/WOD? Anyone been over that stretch this afternoon?

It is horrible and you should go straight home (ideally by bus)! And in case you hadn’t heard the weather is supposed to be terrible all weekend too, you had best stay indoors.

You did. I took CABI from the Ballston metro and you definitely would have passed me if you were behind me.

I’m going to ride the Custis starting from Rosslyn about 5 pm. Any takers?

Of course getting from Wilson to Lee on Lynn is a total PITA with the sewer construction and the sidewalk still uncleared.

5pm? Who do you work for ? Wait, never mind. 5 pm won’t work for me but I was thinking of attempting it a bit later (i.e. 6:30 pm) if anyone wants to meet up.
