ParticipantWhat’s the best way to bike from NW DC to the MVT with the current closures downtown? Wife is going tomorrow morning. Usually we do 14th St but not sure how passable that is.

ParticipantIf you pedal SUPER-fast, the chain heats up and expands and switches to the big ring automatically. Slow down and it cools and shifts back.

You can’t be First in Flight without a plane (at least, it’s not recommended)

ParticipantTo appear on the BAFS website, you have to authorize the site to read your Strava details. People who authorize but are not on a team show up on the Friends page. One assumes if they have taken the time to authorize, they intend to take part in the games in some way. As Steve O says, I recognize a bunch of the names on the Friends list.
If someone wants to volunteer to administer the main Strava club and boot the join-everything people, have at it.

ParticipantRule clarification – if the art is less than a mile from my house but my ride is longer than a mile, does that count?

As others have said, no.
I tend to add a #BAFS2021 hashtag to my rides just so that I can mark them for myself and so that if I wanted to later write a program to sort through my rides by hashtag I could.
No need to write your own program – a buddy of mine already did it – https://www.zashtags.com/

ParticipantThe website only reads the titles, so any game-related hashtag needs to be in the ride title.

Do you care if people can’t make it or will you just assume that non-registrants aren’t able to make it?
Non-registrants can check the forum here for their team Friday morning. Happy hour attendance is not required.
