This technically wasn’t my last ride because I ditched the family to do 1.2 more miles to get to 900 for the year then realized later that I ended at 899.6 and had to go on still one more ride, but this was the last one of any substance

PA Ave is really quite lovely without the cars

People at Hains Point are practicing very little social distancing, but the kids (After hearing about FSLNHPP) REALLY wanted to do a lap. Had I known how crowded it was going to be I likely would have nixed it.

Did this ride happen to pass through Hyattsville? Wife and I were eating inside Pizzeria Paradiso, and saw a flock of kids biking and immediately recognized LlasaCM. I was about to run out there to take a pic, but I didn’t want to spook the kids, especially while they were riding on Route 1 :)

    Yes, February 9th.

    Some of my highlights:

    • Beerneuring in Kalamazoo MI with the wife in freezing rain
    • Three family ride with the top 4 kids on the Pointless Kids leaderboard
    • Team 14 ride through the Arboretum
    • Family Beerneuring. My kids would once again be top 10 on the list if they were allowed to taste

I missed a lot of the social this year. We couldn’t make the opening happy hour and I’ve been busy on the weekends with the kids’ futsal schedule.

I haven’t done my last BAFS 2020 ride – trying to figure out where to go that won’t be crowded in 72 degree weather.

I was REALLY looking forward to the best night of Freezing Saddles, especially after missing last year because of my Achilles tear. But I just can’t participate in good conscience this year. Guidance on whether a ride like this is safe or not seems to vary, and I have to err on the side of caution.

Perhaps when things are back to something resembling normal, we can pick a really crappy night to recreate some of the magic. Maybe a summer torrential downpour or something.

Yeah it sucks, but these are not normal times. Good call.

Don’t necessarily cancel though. Postpone two months down the line?

I think everyone would like to postpone, but there’s just too much uncertainty to make a real plan yet.

What exactly is the main objective of the scoring system?

To give us something to argue about that isn’t proper lighting or ebikes

Blanc Slate – Wild Farmhouse Ale – Light bodied and refreshing saison. I did not get a second, though.

You should have tried the Vintage Foeder Aged Blank Slate – it’s much more interesting!

My point is it HASN’T been competitive. Has there been a lead change since the first week of the teams being full? I don’t think there has.

Going to see how this feels. Aesthetically, it could be worse?

I’m going to try flipping the stem over and see how that is.

It’s called “Freezing Saddles”, so I’ll be out there only if it’s below 32 degrees. :D

    This is fair.

I’ll be there assuming decent weather! Always a fun time

Decent weather? This contest isn’t called “let’s only go for a bike ride when it’s nice out saddles”

Do you know what size is this bike? How much bigger is it compared with your other bike that you are comfortable riding?

Just looked it up, and it’s a 58. My Bianchi is a 57, so maybe it is just setup and not actually too big.
