I found this calculator this morning. Kids had breakfast later than usual as I plotted various streets in DC.

I am in the same boat. I pretty much used this technique with my older two, but they were 4 and a half.

The only obstacle I see for a 3 year old is that a bike is going to be way heavier than most balance bikes. Right now for hills she either does really long curves if the road is clear or just grinds down the soles of her shoes.

Same for Maryland. I got a very late start and I was surprised at how many bikers also had a late start today.

This is mostly the reverse route I take when going to the Takoma Park Library. I usually take 11th instead of 13th to avoid the hill and because 11th has a bike lane after Spring.

On my ride home I was passed without a warning. Then the guy slowed down enough for me to stay with him. Yeah, not so bad until he launched a snot rocket to the side that ended up spraying me. So glad I was wearing sunglasses, but I might have to add a shield.
