I had to laugh when I read this.

    “Dear Dr. Gridlock:

I commute on Interstate 66 and am having a hard time understanding the purpose of the red X and green arrow on the far right travel lane.

Why do these signals exist? Is there a way that VDOT can monitor the traffic and open up these lanes when volume seems to be the issue? I specifically notice this problem on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

It’s bad enough that I have to sit in traffic Monday through Friday, but also on Saturday and Sunday, too, because of the red X. Why is this lane closed for use on Saturday and Sunday?”

Yeah, it’s all because of that darn red X

“The one beer you are not concerned about drinking contains Aspergillus Oryzae, a fungus which is suspected to be an active carcinogen. Other additives such as 4 types of preservative sulphites, nitrosamines, FD&C Blue No.1, Red No.40, Yellow No. 5, Propylene Glycol Alginate, and Calcium Disodium EDTA”

What beer is this guy referring to? I brew beer at home and the ingredients are very simple, and there are no additives like food coloring.

Ugh, crappy new McMansion going in right where the W&OD parallels Virginia (Ln? St? Ave?). What a stupid place to squeeze in another house. That thing is going to have about 4 feet of front yard.

    Best answer, correct! :-)

Yeah, I wish they would stop calling those electric scooters “ebikes” just because they have pedals.

There is an easy solution for you, but it involves cheating. :-)

These are not arrows. They are special markings for ELITE cyclists so they can time distance and speed without looking up.

Please use the videos as you want, that’s why I’m making them! I hate to admit this, but I always hang behind other bikers on the cycle track. I think it makes both bikes more visible to cars. I also do this on the road.
