ParticipantBe careful at the bottom of brandymore castle. It’s very muddy and slick

ParticipantOf course there is a “real” pond on the custis. The water looks almost good enough to drink.

Very stealthy! It looks like it uses one of the tiny new 250W Cute motors, which at 24V should assist up to about 15mph. The only downside looks to be the 8.5Ah battery, which would get 10-15 miles before a recharge. Reminds me a lot of the Farraday Porteur that was all the rage on Kickstartr.
That integrated GPS solution is awesome. I’ve considered trying a SpyBike, but can’t find much by way of reviews.
I was thinking the same thing, about the similarity to the faraday bike. This one does look real nice, I like how the batteries are built into the frame. The only thing preventing me from buying one of these is the range. I need at least 10ah battery to get to work, one way.

ParticipantAll I know, is that if I don’t get a flat, I go faster.
Also, my tires have a nice smooth spot right down the middle where it contacts the road. When coasting, I really can’t tell a difference between thick heavy tires and light skinny tires. I can tell a difference when turning, and accelerating does seem faster. Overall, though I would always choose the thickest most flat resistant tire for commuting.

ParticipantAs a commuter, I have wondered why so many people choose to have such thin skinny tires. Ive seen two people recently have blowouts near me. It is loud! That’s never happened to me and I think it’s because I have thick schwalbe tires on my mountain bike. I’ve had one flat in the last 10k miles, but never a blowout.

ParticipantI saw him this morning on the wod going east just before 495.

ParticipantI’ve seen a lady on the custis several times with a large sign on her back that says “bicyclists please announce your pass”. I thought that was cool. She got an extra loud bell ding from me.

ParticipantReminds me of this:
http://youtu.be/o5_TS8i9N1QAt 8:30pm, though there were probably a lot more people out walking. It’s a miracle nobody was killed.

ParticipantAnd that’s why you don’t use a one-armed person to scare someone

Use caution? So, do you mean I shouldn’t say biking is the fastest growing means of transportation by percentage growth by more than doubling in the last decade? Or that “other” equals the amount of bikers? (What is an other when biking, walking, carpooling, mass transit, automobile, and work at home are all choices–I mean is someone flying or swimming to work? That’s all I can think of to fit the other category.)
I was being sarcastic. The small print on one of the slides says to use caution or something like that…

it isn’t very courteous to stop and just stand on the trail.
How do we get this point across to squirrels?
jnva
ParticipantYes, but “use caution” with those small percentages.
