There is no distance too far! There’s just never enough time, and sometimes you get tired.

Here’s another from WTFCC. It was so nice to see everyone, even if we drove to be there.

I can take more pictures of scuffs or other parts if anyone is interested and post them here or send via email.

It doesn’t seem to be the tires – I’ve had the issue (on these rims) with old school Maxxis Wormdrives, Clement MXP and Strada LGG’s.

The rims are so pretty and match the bike so well, I really don’t want them to be race-only rims (or a race only bike). :-( But I know my other rims are much easier to work with so maybe that’s the way to go. Plus with this bike it’s a crime to race it tubed, so the pretty rims can stay tubeless with cx tires.

Here’s me advice! Buy another bike with rims that aren’t as difficult!!!!! You crazy bike-hoarding lady you.

Hi guys, we’re meeting up tomorrow AM at 7:30 at the Paul in Bethesda. Hopefully, it won’t rain! Looking forward to meeting some of y’all.

Sorry Caitlin, I’m afraid I won’t be able to make it. I try to be at work at 7:30. Have fun. I say, if no one shows up, you should zip over to Kaldi’s in Silver Spring. The gang that meets up there is a great.

Hi! I’m a CCT commuter too also headed in the reverse direction (I commute to Bethesda). In the morning I’m on the CCT quite early, but afternoons I hit it between 5-5:30. Maybe you’ve seen me? Bright fluorescent yellow jacket, orange helmet, black bike. I stand out for sure.

Recommendations for coffee, of course I’ll plug the Georgetown Coffee club on Thursday’s at 6 at Saxby’s because my friend Trey and I started it! Not practical I know, in Bethesda there is Paul, but I would suggest Quatermaine’s Coffee. It’s right next to Bethesda Bagel. There’s also a place down the street a little called the Fresh Baguette. It’s great. For a meetup though, I recommend Quatermaine’s or Paul, they actually have indoor seating. Bethesda Bagels and Fresh Baguette have no seating. Also, I’m biased for Quatermaine’s because they also open at 6 am! Malmaison would have been a nice choice, but it’s a coffee shop that opens at like 9 am (which is stupid as hell IMO). My advice, grab a coffee at Quatermaine’s, on your way out, go next door to grab an everything bagel with cream cheese to go, then finish your commute.

Also, highly recommend the Tuesday coffee club @Kaldi’s in Silver Spring. I’ve been to it several times and it’s a great bunch of people!

Come to Georgetown though! We’re a happy bunch!

    drevil, vvill,

Both of you have great bikes, love the Ti, love the belt drive (could leave the ss though).

I can attest, Tania’s Kona Rove is a fun bike. She let me take if for a spin last year. It’s super comfy.

I’m always looking for an excuse to post a picture of my bike. Mine is a 2016 Salsa Marrakesh, PERMANENT FENDERS are Handsome Mud Butlers, plush Panaracer Paselas 38’s. Went with touring since my commute is long and I have lots of time in the saddle. I was looking for a comfy ride, and this thing is like a Lincoln Towncar. I bought it in June and have about 6500 miles on it so far. The only thing’s I’ve needed replaced are the tires and a chain. It’s a workhorse. A heavy, slow, plodding workhorse. I love the aesthetics too. After seeing all these belt drive and internally geared hubs I’m thinking I want to make some upgrades. Too bad those Rohloff hubs cost more than the bike did.

    Score one for me.

Sunday morning I went out early, crossed the wooden bridge north of Old Town on my way to Four Mile Run, came back around 8 am, as I approached the same wooden bridge, a nice older gentleman told me to be careful, it was slippery. He was correct! Even though there hadn’t been ice on the bridge when I left, it was now icy, when the bridge turned, I turned and my bike just kind of slowly slid out from under me and we went down. Fortunately, the soft wood broke my fall. Bike was OK. I have a skinned knee and a bruised butt cheek.

Damn, I was like 100 yds from home too.

I say we get some more input when more teammates show up! Hopefully they will soon!

There’s also a song by Iron Maiden called “22 Acacia Avenue”. It’s about a prostitute who lives at…you guessed it 22 Acacia Avenue. Some apt lyrics though

“22, the avenue that’s the place where we all go
You will find it’s warm inside the red light’s burning bright tonight”

Interesting too, there’s an Acacia Avenue in Bethesda! AND I RIDE MY BIKE TO BETHESDA!!! Kismet.

Also look up the song “22 Two’s” by Jay-z. I can’t post the lyrics because it’s full of bad words.
