ParticipantThanks for the updates on trail conditions. I am riding later today. Would you say the W&OD is covered more by flotsam than jetsam? Or is it the reverse?

ParticipantI have seen e-scooters on the bike paths; yet, on the W&OD, at least, signs say “No Motorized Vehicles”. The logical implication is that e-scooters do not belong on the W&OD because they have motors. Same with motorized bikes, electric or gas. I’ve also seen motorized skateboards. I don’t get it. The signs are quite clear, yet I see more and more motorized bikes/scooters/skateboards. And even a guy in a flintstones car that appears to have a motor. Are the signs just a suggestion, or some sort of joke? I tell you, this is the age of boundless confusion.

ParticipantThanks for the thoughtful, encouraging replies to my original post. Much appreciated. I think I will amalgamate your suggestions and go for a ride within the next week. Hains Point is a great idea for a first ride.

ParticipantLet’s hope so–Elfs are a menace on the trails.

ParticipantFound connection with a kind and generous advice giver: Me, riding a Hains Point. Advice Giver: passes me on the left and blurts out, “your seat is way to high.” Me, speechless, but quite comfortable on my bike. It’s so nice when someone so politely offers free advice.
