Wait, what? What about getting ready to walk is easier than getting ready to bike? You put on shoes to walk…you put on shoes to ride. You put on pants (I hope) to walk, you put on pants (I hope) to ride…shirt…optional if you are a dude…wait, some of the new jog bras are pretty spiffy, but it is colder than a witches tit out when you ride in a jog bra in 32F weather. I think it is the wind? Perhaps you don’t put on a backpack to walk to the grocery store…but I always buy WAAAY too much ice cream to carry in bags hanging from my hands…backpack and panniers I say! and flowers …for yourself, for your gal…they look great sticking outta a pannier…nah…going to have to go with BICYCLING ALL THE WAY, EVERY WHERE, YES PLEASE!! Bahahahahaha (insert crazed insane emoticon of a person on a bike) Pic is from Feb 6 2019

;)I had to dislike the post. Sorry Ify. Jumping through hoops makes it feel even better when you get in. After f-ing up my first year attempt and not getting on a team…believe it or not made it sweeter each follow on year that I was able to navigate the registration. It’s FREAKING AWESOME! It is EXACTLY like how it feels when you go out to climb on the bike, it’s raining, forgot the rain jacket, tire is flat, wait, do I have a nice dress jacket for work in my pannier? I have a presentation at work at 10am!!, oh crap, imma gonna be late, but I am not giving up…I will RIDE TO WORK! I refer you to rule #5 and rule # 43 https://www.velominati.com ;) THANK YOU CVCALHOUN AND ALL THE VOLUNTEERS who make this stuff happen!!

Thinking about the effort that goes into the programming, setup and continued maintenance during the Freezing Saddles window, I wanted to give a huge THANK YOU and SHOUT OUT to the volunteers who make this happen. This will be my 3rd year and I eagerly await the registration opening. I have low conviction on the rules and points calculation, as a 98% car-free diet person I love anything cycling related, and I love that feeling of being part of this cycling community “thing”, reading along and finding rides, happy hours, etc. to go to. I like the idea of local teams as it seems like it would be easier to meet for activities but again, I am just happy this is happening again! Coming off knee surgery, I am rehabbing at Physical Therapy like a mad woman getting ready to ride Jan 1. Thank you ALL again, I talk about Freezing Saddles A LOT this time of year, and pretty darn often all year long. Elizabeth I Like Wheels, Arlington Va

you do realize that the electricity used by electricity powered cars is made by primarily by burning fossil fuels.

thank you for the “at work giggles”…oh how I resemble that remark. It’s frustrating when they think you are happily waving in said giant mitts, versus trying to communicate …keep up foreign relations…you know

I’m not going to ask for directions, you ask for directions. I’M not going to ask for directions. This is the one time I wish we had a chick with us to ask someone for directions.

I hope the baton passing is going well. Would be sad if last year was my first and last. This community got me out when I would have hid on the sofa under a throw…okay, so I still do that but only after I at least get my sleaze in on really “rule #9 fail” day….I met so many cool people who say “hi” to me now, important for this big time introvert  with occasional carbon based motorized vehicle anger management issues…sigh

I am pleased to announce that I had no close calls this morning. I did not have to spew my venom at any deserving vehicular offenders. However, I do respectfully request that cyclists use their bells or call out when passing. I am not continually staring into the mirror I have hanging below my left side handle bar. Instead of surprising me and almost grazing those tiny blonde hairs on my forearm, how about a notification and a foot personal space when you pass? yes, I would appreciate that. I am 40lbs bike with another 25lb-30lbs (that’s 65-70lbs of moving weight not including me…take note) of white panniers and trunk bag full of computers, clothes and lunch. If I hit you, sideswipe or otherwise, you will cry when your carbon fiber fluffernutter cracks upon impact. boo hoo. do not say you were not warned flyboys.
