ParticipantYou’ve inspired me to give it a go. Perhaps I can get to the bike shop tonight before close and get everything I need.
Drive my wife insane by working on my bike in the late evening hours!ebubar
ParticipantIt’s in store only (instant gratification…if I had clipless pedals…
). Online price is 59.99 (still not too bad).
They had a bunch left in Rockville yesterday. They rang up as 59.99, but I called them on it and they fixed it.

ParticipantFor some reason I think this nutso would get along well with Lucille Bluth:

ParticipantBut the Wall Street journal lady said that Paris and London are the only cities with bikeshare and that nobody in America (especially New York!) wants such an inconvenient, environmentally safe, “blazing blue” means of transport!

High fives? I’d rather see bike grease *accidentally* appear on her $5000 suit. Then we can hear all about how cycling is also ruining NYC’s iconic fashion industry.
I keep watching this and can’t decide what my favorite part is.
“Best neighborhoods are absolutely begrimed by these blazing blue citibank bikes”
“Its shocking to see how much of this they’ve sneaked under the radar under the interest of the environment.”
“The bike lobby is an all powerful enterprise.”ebubar
ParticipantNot surprised by this from the editorial board. I know they’re constantly touting that climate change is false.
Sadly my students bring up these kinds of things as “fact” since it has the word Wall Street Journal attached to it.I think some intrepid bikers need to offer this woman some free high fives!
(though she’d probably recoil at the crazy scallywags and claim assault)ebubar
ParticipantNot a fan of how Endomondo defaults to showing monthly results instead of overall results with the change to June.
Here I try to impress my wife with being in the top 1000 (and therefore convince her I deserve a new bike!), I login
and it shows me in place 1935. Granted all I have to do to see my nice little 900th-ish place is change the
time period to “Challenge Period”, but still annoying.:mad:Anyone else bothered by this?

If you want missed connections, you can’t do much better than this. My old realtor lived on 26th St N and it took me half an hour to find her house for the first time. Click that link and see how many roads, places, or streets named 25th you can find that don’t connect to each other.
Thats right in the same area as Marymount, my place of gainful employment! I’m here every day and never knew the roads were so weird. Luckily I stick with my Glebe to Chain Bridge.

Why is it that after I FINALLY break down and order a new bike that Craigslist starts bustin’ out all over with bikes in my size?
What’d you order? Which All-City did you end up with?

I ordered this. Waiting for delivery in mid May and will update folks on its usefulness. Gets good reviews AND its cheap…win-win!
Had this bag for about a week.
The Good:
1) Comes with an internally routed cord so you can hook your headphones in from the outside of the bag. VERY nifty.
2) Clear plastic front cover allows easy access to a touchscreen phone (iphone in my case).
3) Phone is VERY securely cradled in the bag.
4) Space for my keys, wallet and multitool in the main pouch and the phone in the additional pouch. I was also
able to fit in three Park tire levers and a patch kit. Without the wallet I could also get in a tube. Thinking a rear
mount bag would be good for this, then just need a lock solution and I don’t need the pannier all the time.
5) Bag seems very sturdy thus far.The Bad:
1) Its a tiny bit floppy. This is due to problem 2:
2) The velcro on the attachment straps isn’t very well placed. The straps are too long, so I can’t get it very securely attached to the top tube. Hope to fix this with a little bit of sewing.
3) The bag is a little wide and floppy so if i’m climbing out of the saddle (like on 41st Street or Military Road hills!) I sometimes hit the thing with my knees. Its a pit pin-bally bouncing between my knees.Verdict:
For $10 its a pretty tough value to beat. A bigger bag would be unwieldy and awkward. A smaller bag might not hold my wallet, keys,
phone and multitool. If you’re looking for a nice bag for using on the front of your bike so you can easily access your smartphone/music while riding, I’m not sure you can beat this deal!See you on the trails!

666 points after my ride home. Dinner time and bedtime were visited by two demons. I should probably go ride a mile to make things right again.
I know how you feel. Was there myself just yesterday.

ParticipantI’m reminded of a popular physics joke:
A farmer goes to a physicist to solve a problem he is having with his cow. The physicist comes back a week later and says, “I’ve solved your problem! First, assume the cow is a sphere in a vacuum…”
Basically, physics in the real world is pretty complex and we typically work in ideals. Quantifying all these variables with extreme accuracy would be pretty tricky, if not impossible.

Was tempted not to bike anymore in the NBC after this score…
Luckily I had a nice ride today climbing up 41st and the Hills
of Military Road and 31st Street. Now i’m in a much happier place.
