ParticipantI need to plan the rest of my year…. Can someone tell me when Bike home from work day is??????
Just kidding. See y’all on the trail tomorrow. It was cool to see so many people out this week… making it Bike to work Week!
Keep up the good work.

Buckets in action. I’m riding 2 on the left side and my laptop pannier on the right. As long as the weight is within 20 pounds of balance it works out pretty well. I have some different ones for the front… they’re taller and skinnier.

ParticipantJabbs, you get bonus points for riding anyways.. and a t-shirt.
Great PSA for BtW Day. I’ll out there scaring the public with a huge dumb bike.

ParticipantCool link, sir. Looks like it could be fun. I’ve been wanting to put together a “Statue of a Dead Guy on a Horse” tour of DC by bike. It would probably end up being a double century though.

ParticipantScratch the perfect comment. It is paved so that it holds water and puddles. Not a big deal now. Next winter it is gonna be an ice rink. Good time to invest in studded tires if your local shop has left-overs from this winter. I just picked up a nice set of Nokians for the Dummy along with some close-out winter clothing.

ParticipantThank yee.
It has been a great training tool for getting back into shape after a winter off with injuries. Bucket panniers should be done this weekend.

ParticipantPaving done. The trail is perfect.

ParticipantRode it this morning. Still not paved, but a pleasant commuting experience none the less.
Dirt
ParticipantPeople were walking and running through this morning. My guess is that there will be fresh pavement on the ride home tonight. Would be cool if they paved that whole section. It could use it.

ParticipantNice ride!!! I love that loop and will be back there soon. There are so many turns that it is hard to keep track of the cue sheet. It is a little easier with a Garmin 705, but not that much. It could be “improved” a little by a trip down to chain bridge and up 41st street.
Glad you had a good day of it. Keep up the good work!
Dirt
ParticipantHahaha… That would be funny. I’ll get right to work on that. I’ve generally found that videos like that are more entertaining when one in portrait instead of landscape orientation. Much more annoying too…. Which really is my goal in life.

Enjoying the sun being up when I’m still commuting.Dirt
ParticipantGood idea Zeke.
I’m PEte. I’ve been living in Arlington or Falls Church for 21 years. I’ve enjoyed watching it become a great cycling town thanks to the efforts of a lot of fantastic people.
I’ve been a pedalhead since I was old enough to “borrow” my neighbor’s pink Schwinn and learn to ride. The last few years I’ve been leaving the car in the driveway and riding everywhere. These days I’m most often seen on a cargo bike. As summer rolls around I’ll dig out the road bike. Not much makes me happier than taking a ride and snapping some photos.

ParticipantWednesday ride sounds wonderful. That is a nice way to finish out my day. I love those hills. I’ll definitely partake of this one when my schedule allows.
Thank you.

ParticipantLook forward to hearing how it goes for you. I’m gonna do an abbreviated version at 0600 Saturday. No time for a long ride this weekend, so I’m doing two shorter ones.
