Pete, thanks for posting the Friday ride. If I can get my shit together; I’d love to do it.

I lead 3 rides per week from Bikenetic. Tuesday mornings early, Fridays (all day) and Sunday mornings. I usually try to post up the rides by Sunday night. Sometimes I don’t make that goal. Tuesday is hills. Friday is usually a gravel ride in Loudoun County and Sunday is a coffee ride in DC.
Ping me for more info. I usually organize rides through Facebook.
Dirt
ParticipantI’ve got 90 minutes to get a ride in before work on Monday. Sorry!
There is a Friday ride though: https://www.facebook.com/events/1837837979763034/

ParticipantAlright!
Many of us are NOT showing up on the leaderboards. To my knowledge, there are now 4 things that you need to do in order to score points.
1) Join the Freezing Saddles 2017 Club on Strava (Listed in the Welcome Message)
2) Authorize the Freezing Saddles app in Strava (Also from the Welcome Message)
3) Join the Team 18 Strava Club (Listed earlier in this thread — only 3 of us have done this so far)
4) Click “Login” on the freezing saddles Leaderboard and then login via Strava. Here’s the leaderboard page: http://freezingsaddles.com/leaderboard/individual_textHope that helps.

It looks like about 70 people dropped off the leaderboard last night. Not complaining! I know it will all sort out. Just thought that I’d let you know. Thank you very much for making this all happen. Y’all are amazing.
Love,
PeteI solved my personal problem. I wasn’t showing up because I hadn’t clicked “Login” on the leaderboard page and connected via Strava. Hopefully that solves it for other team members.

I suspect it will sort itself out, but if you are still off the leaderboard in the AM, let me know. It may be a fix I attempted to make for excluding the slackers team (which turned into a rabbit hole — and didn’t actually happen in the end).

ParticipantIdiots? I’m in the right group. What were we talking about???
Hi!
Dirt
ParticipantYayyyy Team 18!!!
I’m Pete. I’m just getting all of my connections done so that my miles will start showing up on the leaderboard. I think I’ve got it now. I’m a little late in making that happen. I look forward to catching up with other teammates soon!

ParticipantI’ve been riding the road into the for the last few weeks and staying off the trails. This morning I rode Custis and W&OD both in and out of the city so that I could bask in the awesomeness that is these signs. Soooooooooooo impossibly awesome.
Thank you!!!

The Wilson Blvd underpass on the W&OD has about 2″ of flowing water across the full width of the trail.
It is good to think about your detours for these underpasses. I went through an hour later and Carlin Springs underpass was about 6″ under water and Bluemont (aka Wilson Blvd) was 3′ deep.
It is quite dangerous to ride through these when there’s a lot of water going through them. a) there can be debris below the surface that you can’t see; and 2: Bluemont, in particular, has some weird water currents that want to push you toward the edge of the path at the downstream side of the underpass. When water is low, that isn’t much of a problem. When it is deeper, it can be a pretty thrilling “ride”.

Reviving a very old thread. @Dirt @Arlingtonrider – do you all still use Moose Mitts? They sound somewhat better than Bar Mitts but are approx. $30 more expensive. Thoughts?
(Sent by a wimp trying to ride in the cold)I have and use both. I like the Moose Mitts better. They’re warmer for me. The Barmitts are great and have a good temperature range. When it gets very cold, I tend to use the Moose Mitts.
