Did you all ride in this morning? Did you notice just how lovely it was? Tomorrow is going to be even nicer. We should all escape … at least for lunch!
Grab your bike or a CABI and meet me in McPherson Square tomorrow, Thursday 4/14. 12:30pm. We can have a food truck taste-off, talk bikes and enjoy the sun!

Next week I’ll begin riding with a pedal wrench. Who is in for a few Haines point laps???
But that would only help you win

Was chugging home on the Custis on the Spout Run bridge and got a “passing” from behind. I gave my little thank-you hand motion and then he came flying by with another cyclist desperately attempting to draft. A few seconds later I got a lightbulb and took chase. Got close enough on the switchback to clarify. Managed to wheeze out a “Vince” between gasps. I think I got an acknowledging nod before dcv rapidly became a speck in the distance.
He blew by so fast he flatted my front tire, which I noticed a couple miles later.
Sorry I didn’t recognize you, I thought I heard something but didn’t make it out. Hope I was being a PAL.

Part of me wants to tear down my road bike and switch over my ENO wheel from my hybrid/pit SSCX bike (which hardly gets ridden anyway). Probably wouldn’t be <15lbs but anything <17.5 would be lighter than any of my other bikes. Force/Red cranks? What chain ring is that?
Force cranks with Blackspire chainring. I think you’d be surprised how light you can get by ditching your groupset, I think my steel Lemond is mid 15 lbs.

That looks like mile 7.5 on the W&OD.
You could have a sub 14 lb bike if you switched out the gatorskins for GP4000sor get rid of the emergency brake & bottle cage

The morning after
My lightest bike, carbon Scott CR-1 Pro frame converted to fixed gear using the same ENO wheelset from the Lemond. Ready to ride this bike is 14.17 lbs, sometimes both wheels skip off the ground during an all-out sprint (accidental bunny hops). Head tube is too big.

This thread is just pure bike porn for me. I’d post if I had more bikes, but I love seeing everyone else’s!
Ian I think you caught me on the MVT when I was bring the RX frameset home a few months ago?

Another wet commute
My latest addition – got this Raleigh RX frameset off DC Used, moved most parts over from my now-dead Blue (Competition Cycles) road bike (cracked frame). Mix of SRAM Red / Force with TRP mini-V brakes. Built this to climb gravel mountains, I’m still loving the novelty of CX with gears.dcv

Tue coffee @ Cafe Kindred, snuggle bikes with Dickie’s CX
My absolute most favorite bike ever, Lemond Zurich converted fixed gear. Have had this frame since 2002, this fits better as a FG without hoods – shorter reach. 57.5 top tube for a 55 frame.dcv
