Sorry to screw with your stats Dana but I never differentiate my ride types…. I list all of them as “Sport” for simplicity even though the majority of them are commuting…. sorry!

Tapiriik imports everything from Strava as “sport” so I’m there too.

Can’t make it but I can recommend the movie. It’s not about the actual biking as much as it is following the people trying to make the journey. Great film.

Honestly, you’re not really selling this. :D

Um, why do you think it’s called Chamois Butter? Duh.

I’ve heard great things about Cannondale aluminum, but they also seem to have the most proprietary stuff on their bikes. GuyContinental can probably attest to the joys of trying to replace the cranks/bb or headset bearings for a several(?)-year old Cannondale. But the Synapse Sora may not suffer from that.

(I’m sure other options have been evaluated, but it seems like at that price point you could get a significantly better set of components if going with a “lesser” brand name — e.g. GT or certainly the Motobecane/Nashbar/etc. route.)

Cannondale integrated headsets are Campy standard and have been for a while, you can get a replacement anywhere. FSA and Cane Creek both make affordable models that fit.

I feel 10 inches tall for getting passed by a chick in a business skirt barely pedaling….. Then I noticed as she pulled away, she had a electric motor on the back tire… I tried to catch up so I could yell aloud ‘CHEEAAATTEER’ but she was running red lights….. She looked to be under 35. I hope her battery died on the big 15 street hill.

If a woman under 35 in a professional skirt on a bike passes me, generally the first thing I think is not “Cheater”… it’s usually unprintable.

I want a girl with a short skirt, and a loooooooong jacket.

Rock on, business lady. Just stop running reds. Or at least stop before you do.

I’m kind of serious about this one. I did see a sign on the 4MRT this afternoon, but really have no idea.

Peter, does Quintana know you’re wearing his jersey? Haha, looks good on you, BikeArlington’s grimpeur!

Polka-dot jersey, black shorts, and a cycling cap. Peter D is very pro.

I did wear a black kit, but much as I’d like to, I can’t blame that for my woes that day. I also drank a ton — didn’t keep track — had a water bottle and a camelbak. I even gave some of my water to a man who had run out between stops. It seemed like you couldn’t drink enough.

I remember noticing that you were wearing all black and thinking you were completely insane, but at mile 90 I wasn’t about to tell you that. You looked strong when you left our stop!

Are you the unknown rider who sometimes waves at me, most recently today on 7th NW?

Not I, I’m almost never riding in that area and if I am it’s on a CaBi just heading out somewhere.

Dave if you want to meet up I’ll be crossing key bridge around 5:25. We can meet at the Key Bridge Marriott parking lot, just let me know.

I am going to leave my office around 5:30 to meet Blacknell to drag him with me. Do you want to meet on the Custis at the end of the Ballston connector just east of George Mason Drive?

Can you post a quick “how to get there from the W&OD”? I’m thinking about trying to make it tonight.

A delightful surprise last night – a real (and long overdue) visit and ride along FMR with the fraction man himself! It was great to see you!

Was also nice to hear a friendly call out from someone coming from VA on the 14th Street Bridge around 7:10 pm, but we passed each other too quickly for me to be able to tell who it was (?).

Was me. Outside my usual time window but yesterday was a long day.

Yea, lets hear it for human sized housing. The houses on my street are being consumed one by one by apartment buildings that oddly each contain only one family rather than the 10 or so they could hold. One is 12,000 sf, has 6 AC units and 4 humans. Mom drives a Prius (to offset the carbon I guess).

Had a nice anti missed connection on then ride home from TNR. Seems my nice Blackburn rechargeable blinky and I parted ways while I was getting the “Magic Fingers” treatment on the section of road that has been milled. A guy in a car saw it fall off and took the time and effort to get out, pick it up, chase me down and honk just as I got to the custis. Big thanks!

I was panicked last night, thought I lost my favorite Knog Blinder rear light there as well, but I just forgot to put it on my seatpost in the morning. Crisis averted. I did lose a bottle on the way down Military and stopped to pick it up. That made me lots of new friends.
