ParticipantDrumroll Please!!!!
3 People met their goals. 5 people stuck with it and lost weight throughout the competition. I personally had a strong start but then fell off the wagon. On 3/8 I broke my leg and am officially withdrawing from this aspect of the competition. There were roughly 10 people who expressed interest. I’m hereby awarding $15 Amazon GCs to the the three people who met their goal and $10 to the two others who stuck wiith it the entire competition AND had a net weight loss. I hope that you use it to buy something completely pointless from Amazon such as a shake weight, shocktato game, yodeling pickle, or this completely real facelift hammock and obscene looking lip exerciser(amazon.com).
To claim your gift, email your username and amazon email address to cwaggoner [at] hotmail. I’ll send it out in the next few days.
I want to thank all f you for participating. We had some extremely motivated people this year and it was wonderful to hear that this contest actually helped up their motivation.

Silly question – for those who are new to the event this year and probably missed the original, “yes, I’ll buy one of those” — when they DO arrive, will there be any extra? I’d definitely like to purchase one!
I second this response!

ParticipantStarting weight was 205
As of yesterday: 200.I’m feeling pretty good about this. Especially since it’s been a rough couple of weeks emotiionally. Also, I ate all the little debbie stuff during my ride yesterday. Hoping that I can keep the willpower to have another week of losing!
BTW, it’s inspiring to see all the folks here working on attaining their healthy weight. Keep up the good work!

ParticipantWhat are all yall’s strategies? I’m using myfitnesspal to count macros. Oh and I’m weighing my food. I’m off to a decent start so far but I feel off the wagon a bit tonight. I had a hot chicken sammy and fries from the new restaurant around the corner Wooboi.
Anyone doing intermittent fasting? What about something unusual like a cabbage diet?

I’m in. Don’t know the lbs… 83.5kg this morning. Want to finish at 77kg. That’s about 15 lbs, give or take a few grams.
Rule 24?

I like this idea – and as SteveO notes, it’s an idea with a noble provenance in Freezing Saddles. I recommend you create a separate thread where competitors can check in.
I’d love to create a separate thread. Do you know how were have a link to instructions on how to make another thread.

ParticipantAnyone interested in a pointless prize for shedding the pandemic pudge?
Start by declaring your weight loss goal and current weight, then check in weekly? If you are really sensitive about sharing your weight, you can state your goal in number of pounds you intend to lose and check ins can be the number of lbs lost. Rules are open to suggestions for a few weeks at least.
I will come up with some sort of (funny) prize(s)for everyone that hits their goal, for those that go the opposite way, for the most pounds lost, and for the highest body weight percentage lost.

Hello out there. My name is Harrison and I am stoked for this year’s Freezing Saddles. I caught the cycling bug commuting year round on the MVT for a few years. I have since moved out to the wild uncharted lands of Central Fairfax and now travel in packs of fellow wanderers for safety as we scour the parkways and boulevards for plump squirrels and dodge distracted cagers.
I am a young and vivacious retrogrouch who thinks his 1981 Shogun 1000 is likely the pinnacle of bicycular achievement and that downtube shifters are an indication of superior character and spiritual enlightenment. It’s definitely NOT that I got lucky buying a used bike and have retroactively justified all of its limitations because it fits so well and I’m stubborn.
Hale and well met!

ParticipantI’m excited to join freezing saddles. I need a bit of motivation to get on the bike this winter. Or at all lately, really. Hope to see some of you guys out on the road.
