Several of our photos which were uploaded yesterday (1/11) and were visible on the website using my desktop last night aren’t showing up this morning (mine included).

Edit, and now that I’ve posted, Voilà, there they are!

#scavhunt 1/11/2025 – looks like everyone had the same idea.  The Ind 45/46 Bypass was cleared curb to curb dumping the DINGY snow onto the sidewalk/cyclepaths on either side.

#scavhunt 1/10/2025 – More snow forecast for today in Indiana so I went out for a sunrise sleaze ride.  It was 20° warmer than yesterday’s 1°F sunrise temperature so I was riding at a CRAWL to avoid black ice from refreezing snow runoff.

Edit:  Good thing I rode this morning access out of Meadowood is problematic with the snow.  About three new inches of accumulation so far.  Time to walk the dog

#publicartfinder 1/8/2025 – His statue in George Taliaferro Plaza at the north end of Memorial Stadium.

Sort of a personal connection here, I went to high school with one of his daughters and his wife did my suitability interview in my Indiana Bar application.  Oh yeah, and I had met him

It’s early in the competition, but we got about 10 inches of snow and frigid temperatures in Bloomington, IN Sunday and Monday (1/5&6).  I share a hybrid bike here with my sister, but it is not equipped as a snow and ice bike.  I rode a decasleaze on Sunday as the accumulation started and had no problems.  Monday I managed a basic one mile sleaze ride with two road laps around the main Meadowood Retirement Community building after the first pass of the snow plow.  However, there was still a great deal of packed snow and ice and my 700×35 tires kept sliding.  I had to try and keep to the flattest route because there was no uphill traction.  Today more plowing, but still ice and slush issues.  I tried to ride outside of the complex, but one entry is off a busy four lane highway and the other is narrow and still treacherous.  I did more extensive laps and managed another decasleaze ride.

#publicartfinder 1/7/2025 – It may be a frigid winter day with lots of snow to deal with, but the bird and the butterflies make me think of Spring already

#scavhunt 1/7/2025 – ATLAS was much stronger than Sampson, but a Multidisciplinary approach was needed to build the ATLAS rockets.  This was originally the site of the IU cyclotron.

#scavhunt 1/6/2025 – This ball of SPRIGs is one of many seasonal decorations at Meadowood.  I was worried they would have taken them down before I could get my sleaze ride in on snow covered/icy roads around the complex

#publicartfinder 1/5/2025 – Bloomington’s art work for their standard design for trail signs was particularly appropriate on this snow day.
