I’d recommend getting back on the bike and pedaling with your feet :)

That’s what Dirt would do, right?

I think they’ve also got a Kona Token on sale, unless it already sold. That’s a women’s e-bike, normally $1995, on sale for $999.50

Definitely a great day to stop by Proteus! I was going to ride in this morning, but woke up with a headache…. ok, that’s a lame excuse, usually a good ride will clear up a headache. I was just kind of tired and lazy and didn’t feel like getting up to ride. I was going to bike by Proteus on the way home, since that sale is kind of crazy, but I’ll just have to drive by instead!

My dear wife read this over my shoulder and said she strongly disagreed with this rule. Seems she thinks me in kit is pay back for her manning the household helm while I am out peddling around. :)

    Hiding her glasses helps too.

I made this mistake once. After a really warm day, I sat in my chair (cooling off in the A/C) for about 30 minutes before heading up to the shower. I don’t have terribly sensitive skin, but that 30 minutes wrecked me for a few days. I’m still not sure what caused the rash, but it did go away ladies, so I’m all safe now ;) ;)

One lady interviewed is really clueless. She basically said cyclists shouldn’t be able to record because it’s an invasion of her privacy… ???? WTF?! That’s just stupid. People really don’t realize that you have no expectation of privacy when you’re in public?! Especially driving on a public road! I think based on that alone, the story made drivers look ignorant.

Let me know when you get a BikeArlington jersey. We have them up to 2XL…

I bought one a while ago. It was the last large sized jersey they had in stock (2X, which is slightly large, but I’m planning for the future). There was only 1 jersey remaining, a very small one. I don’t know if they’ve stocked up since or not

As a Maryland resident, you don’t pay me much…

I’m a WABA member! And I bought a jersey (which doesn’t even come close to fitting, damn non-XL XLs)

Is it the stop lights and waiting that slows you down? Do you have a Strava file of your ride?

It’s really the whole having to jump a bus part, but that ultimately saves a lot of miles. Other than that, yeah, there are quite a few stoplights and signs that I won’t run. There are also some hills, not mountains, just little hills. But I’m not a climber :( Something I need to work on.

Here’s one of my “average” rides. Sometimes I’m faster, sometimes I’m slower: http://app.strava.com/activities/26040044

I would recommend just pedaling faster.

That doesn’t work, I have gears. Good advice for the other 1/2 of the forum.

I likely won’t get too much faster. I’m 43, I’m fat, I have arthritis and bad(ish) knees that act up if I stress them too much. Honestly, my only good option is to be happy with the days I do get to ride. The other option would be to move, or get a new job. I’m considering those.

(boring but likely answer) You’ve confused me with an actual 30- or 20- something forum member who’s actually made it to a happy hour or other meetup?

(less likely but both more scary and more interesting) You have some kind of reverse web-cam thingy that lets you spy on the rest of us through the intertubes and you’re actually watching me as I type this?

hah, I totally had you confused with acc, sorry!
