Participant1/24/23 – A BOAT from day 3. Yes, it’s old, it’s upside down, but I spotted it in the side yard of a house I was cycling past.
(Oh and somehow my sculpture (not a person) from day 1 (posted on a later date) didn’t get marked off. But it IS marked off on my bingo card!

Participant1/18/23 – Winnie the Pooh – what might be in the 100 acre woods? Why, trees, river and clouds!
Here are a few Pooh quotes to go with the image.
“Sometimes, if you stand on the bottom rail of a bridge and lean over to watch the river slipping slowly away beneath you, you will suddenly know everything there is to be known.” – Winnie the Pooh
“How sweet to be a cloud floating in the blue! It makes him very proud to be a little cloud.” – Winnie the Pooh

Oh, thank you so much! I will definitely go and check it out. Meanwhile, here’s the link to the google doc I created that has more of his sculptures – https://docs.google.com/document/d/14KHlPjYTyFBMCo-swurtIFZ78u7rBF0dDLlPfE2RsEY/edit#heading=h.s53tr3h8639x

EDIT – Henry got it fixed so here’s my upload!

ParticipantLOVE THIS! Is this an Andrew Mallon chainsaw sculpture? I’d love to go find it if you can give more specific name/direction. I have a whole google spreadsheet that has the locations of his work.

Participant1/16/23. – MLK day
Here is a 3-photo collage. I had to go out of town today, so squeezed my ride in early around town in Arlington. HOWEVER, my short ride brought me past the Black Heritage Museum of Arlington, which had an exhibit about lunch counters – specifically one at the People’s Drug Store, which was the site of a sit-in during the Civil Rights Era (photo 1 in the collage)
I then stopped by the library, to snap the pic of the sign (2nd pic of collage), stating that it was CLOSED today for the MLK holiday (it was designated as a holiday 40 years ago.)
The third photo in the collage wasn’t found on my ride, but I wanted to include it anyway, since it shows my grandfather (Attorney Merle McCurdy) in the center, flanked by Ralph Abernathy on the left, and Martin Luther King on the right, where my grandfather addressed the NAACP convention in Atlanta, GA on July 3, 1962.
Here’s the link for an article on the sit-in at People’s Drug store on Lee Hwy in Arlington – https://www.arlnow.com/2020/06/09/sixty-years-ago-today-a-month-long-civil-rights-battle-raged-across-arlington-restaurants/#:~:text=%E2%80%9COn%20June%209%2C%201960%2C,only%20lunch%20counters%2C%E2%80%9D%20Arlington’s%20Historic
