ParticipantKelley and Glenn,
Thank you for sponsoring the Photo Scavenger Hunt pointless prize. I certainly looked forward to figuring out how to depict the Wordle word each day, For me, squeezing out the win was just icing on the cake. Each word was a challenge to see how I could depict it, but also it was fun to see what the other participants came up with. Thank you for your time judging all the submissions and in providing feedback on your decisions. Well done and thanks for providing the motivation to ride and chase this pointless prize. To all, congratulations for your pictures and a special shoutout to Christina and Janet for chasing the “word” for all 78 days.

Below is the statue named the Path of Thorns and Roses by Mario Chiado. The statute includes a large circle of thorns that reminds me of a lasso pulling all the enslaved into a world of oppression and misery.

Participant3/11/2025 Track
Once upon a time, the Washington and Old Dominion railroad ran to the rail yards in Potomac Yard. Sadly, when the railroad was abandoned, the section of the W&OD in Alexandria was not part of what became the W&OD Trail. A portion of the W&OD was saved and became the Mount Jefferson Trail. During a recent renovation of the trail, a small section of the track was uncovered.
