Participant- In 3/17/25 – LASSO
At Meadowbrook Park I found a stable with horses & ropes attached to the outside of the building that look like they’d  work great for LASSOing.
I zoomed in on a section of the stable so you could more clearly see the horse’s head sticking out. You can see the  LASSO rope attached on the outside of each stable

ParticipantI decided to go with what we âfigured everyone would (probably do)â because now maybe they wouldnât.
Wouldnât it be cool if they filmed season 4 at Audi stadium with our womenâs team? Make it political?!

LASSOWhen pushed for more details, including whether the new season would see his character come back to the US, Sudeikis said: “That’s too many questions,” adding: “I don’t know.”

Participant3/18/2025 Timer
a pedestrian walk timer allows pedestrians a few seconds to use the roadway.

Participant3/18/25 Friend Of FS Joan B (former female top rider) shows me the TIMER on her watch at the end of our N Arlington hills.

Participant3/18/25 – TIMER
My inner TIMER was clearly honed in Puerto Rico* cuz I struggle to get places on time… especially rides in winter & early spring when the chilly mornings & warmer afternoons incentivize waiting! So today was the first time in awhile that I made it to my Tuesday am Belle Haven ride.
I WAS late. I was expecting to ride straight to Fort Hunt and catch them there (the ride gets to Fort Hunt a twisty way, so catching up is possible.) I arrived 5 minutes after the start time but I was so lucky, they were still there!
Here’s most of the group at the first regroup.
This is a guy dominated ride, but we were 4 women today. You can see Terre & Janice on the left behind James (smiling, front left.) Brenda & a few of the guys were still riding up the hill. I did have 1 group selfie, but James wasn’t in it so I opted for this one instead.
The smiling guy on the left is James Graham, who played FS 1.5 times and always finished near the top. He just retired, so this was his first time riding with my Belle Haven group. đ
*I grew up in Puerto Rico when I was 6-17 years old, almost all in the 70s.

I took a photo of the timer clock at the gym post-workout, but I prefer nature’s timers: daffodils tell me freezing saddles is about to end
Phenology is the study of nature’s timers. Scientists are studying how climate change is altering seasonal timing. In some ecosystems they’re finding phenological mismatch, for instance between organisms that are cued by temperature and those cued by day length, so things happen like baby birds hatching before their food source.

Pedestrian countdown timers can be useful for cyclists too. In addition to showing how much time you have to beat the red light, this particular one tells me when I can get ready to start crossing 16th Street. When it reaches 18, I start pedaling, knowing that at 16 this light will turn green.

Participant#scavhunt 3/18 – While I like the count-down TIMER for the pedestrian light at the intersection of the W&OD/4MR Dr/Walter Reed, it’s ridiculous that such a busy trail has a “beg” button (you don’t actually have to push to get the walk light)

Participant3/18 – not sure this TIMER allows enough time for pedestrians to cross

TIMERStreetlights generally operate from dusk to dawn, with the specific timing varying based on location, season, and technology, but they are typically controlled by light sensors rather than timers.Â
Here’s a more detailed explanation:
* Dusk to Dawn Operation:â¨Streetlights are designed to turn on when it gets dark outside, around sunset, and turn off around sunrise, to improve visibility and safety. â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨
* Light Sensor Control:â¨Modern streetlights use light sensors (photocells) to detect the ambient light level and automatically switch the lights on and off, rather than relying on timers. â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨
* Seasonal Variations:â¨The timing of streetlights can vary with the seasons. In the summer, when daylight lingers longer, they might turn on later in the evening, while in the winter, with shorter days, they may turn on earlier. â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨
* Part-Night Service:â¨Some streetlights are designed to operate only for part of the night, turning off at a predetermined time, which can save energy and prolong the lifespan of the light source. â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨
* Other Factors:â¨There can be other reasons why streetlights might be turned off, such as construction, special events, or local jurisdiction decisions. â¨â¨March 19, 2025 at 12:01 am #1138131Kbikeva
