ParticipantI hate seeing this thread get bumped. I’m glad both of you are generally ok, and Drevil please take it easy. Sounds like a pretty serious fall, so be safe out there!

ParticipantWhere’s our 11th? Having lots of fun riding, and wanting to ride even more. Won’t be at the coffee ride tomorrow, but will be out earlier in the day. Enjoy the long weekend everyone!
Brett L.
ParticipantYay yay yay. So no ride is “scheduled” for tomorrow due to weather, but I’ll definitely be riding myself on a hybrid with bigger tires. Given the poor conditions, it may be a good day for strength in numbers. Hit me up if anyone wants to ride together.
Blaplante01@gmail.comEdit:. Ice is scheduled for tomorrow. Be safe out there

Winner Winner Chicken DinnerSee you on the trails!

ParticipantThis thread really went sideways. Let’s keep it fun and aloof, delete a whole bunch of comments – keep the funny ones – and summarize with rubber chicken award! First timey here, I know I’m out of place to comment, but this freezing saddles competition has already been tremendous fun for me as I’ve competed, joshed with biking buddies and have met so many more people. For me, Freezing Saddles has already been a success. As a third party, and knowing that I’m interjecting myself unsolicited to this thread, perhaps let’s all take a step back, forget what’s been said, retrack some of the animosity, and all have some fun.

So. Last evening the wind was from the south. Naturally this AM it was from the north. So against the wind on the MVT, both ways. But FS, so, as Fraulein Schneider says, so what?
This AM there seemed to be a surprising number of vehicles for a Friday before a three day weekend, and lots of odd behavior. What I get for riding in a bit later than usual. On the Shirlington descent the crossing guard was waving her stop sign oddly, I looked to make sure she was not signalling for traffic on 31st to stop, she shouted something that sounded like “you are on your own” Well, I never expected otherwiseMaine Avenue wasn’t bad, but at the turn up 7th there was a truck stopped in the right lane, forcing me around, and then a pickup truck that felt the need to pass me before I entered the bike lane on Eye. At South Cap there was a USPS truck, jutting into the bike lane – almost half the bike lane. When the light turned green, he just went straight, so not sure why he did that. Then of course the car that was in the right turn only lane scoots around to go straight . SMH. But it was still a nice day to ride, and I saw FFG at Gravelly, so there was that.
Sounds like a 1 mile ride. What happened during the rest of it?

ParticipantLooks like we still have one missing teammate. Forgive me, I’m having a little difficulty correlating strava names to forum names, but it looks like we are missing:
david.helms570 ?Please correct me if I got that wrong

ParticipantHow has the honor amongst thieves (stealing outdoor miles) been with regards to freezing saddles miles? Has it been tough to keep those trainer miles off the boards? They Zwiftiest Rider should have to work the bar, or be forced to clean up after everything is said and done!

ParticipantLooks like 10 out of 11 folks are signed up on strava now – EXCELLENT!
Throwing this question out there, anyone interested in a ride this weekend and/or coffee meet up?

ParticipantConcerns about 7-11: not BAFS related and might cause confusion with team 11.
MagnifICEnt Seven
Natural Seven (craps term) – not BAFS related but won’t be confused with a different teamBrett L.

I like the name small and perfect. or just perfect 6.I wear size 6 gloves and shoes, so the moniker is pretty perfect IMHO.
I’m bikenurse AKA Laurie. I will ride everyday as is possible. Jeff/Greenbelt and I are going to Costa Rica for 2 weeks 1/21-2/5. The first week is mountain biking in the interior (“sweating saddles”), so no problem with riding then. Provided I survive a week of mountain biking (I’m a terrible mountain biker), the second week is lowland remote jungle, beach, scuba. Hopefully I can scare up a bike somewhere. If not, I will try to make up miles when I get back. I will do my best to keep up with Greenbelt (on the dreaded team 7) while on vacation. BTW – I live in Greenbelt and know how to get around to most places, so will be happy to organize some rides/meet ups. I like to ride for food, coffee, beer, sweets, so feel free to make some suggestions for meet up spots.Carol: feel better soon!!
Bikenurse, during the second part of that vacation, if you can only scare up a single bike, I think it would be best to let Greenbelt have it. There’s no need to go out of your way to get a few extra points :p
