ParticipantLOLOLOLOL You know what, I have one those Lowe Pro cases. I just never thought it would work very well on my bike. I will give it a try with some velcro straps.
Thanks so much.

ParticipantThank everyone. I will consider this. @Jabberwocky do you have any pictures of how you mount it up?
bluerider
ParticipantThanks those recommendations. However, this will mount on a cross bike with the cables running along to top side of the top tube. Thus, that bag will not work so well.

ParticipantI find myself drawn to simple commuters with flair lately and I keep coming back to this.

ParticipantI had a really nice ride. In terms of speed, I crushed it. Did it in 5 hours and 51 minutes with an average speed of 17.4. For me, that was huge. I didn’t even look at the stats while riding so for a rider that averages 15.5 most of the time I was surprised. The big helping of headwind sucked.
Heres a couple of pics.

JRA and BlueRider doubled back to say “hi”. We ticked off 4 miles between the MVT and Custis. Nice riding with you, sir.
Yes indeed.

ParticipantI had my first Dirt sighting on the way back from Mount Vernon today. We ran into each other where 4 Mile Run hits the MVT. I decided to turn around and introduce myself. So I rode with Dirt down the 4 Mile Run trail until I hit the Custis Trail to complete the Arlington Loop. I was a great impromptu detour on my way home. Dirt managed to get a picture of the sighting.

ParticipantI was captured as well.

Thanks for all the comments. This was a really nice ride and I would have been nervous to make it without your input. The return from RC was a bit slow and congested but otherwise great.
Glad your ride turned out well.
