ParticipantIndeed – I’ve been in three accidents in that thing. If I had fallen these two times on my Kestrel – I’d have a shattered frame for sure.

ParticipantMe too!

ParticipantHey – do you commute into NoMA?
birddog
ParticipantI just signed up!

ParticipantEvery morning and every night I see people with strobes on the trail. This causes all other trail users to be distracted and not be able to see. Accidents will happen because of this scenario and people will be hurt
.
Is there anything we can do other than yell?

ParticipantI guess you’re right – hopefully he was doing actual police work. Just wondering if anyone else saw him. Then maybe we could figure out what police work he could be doing.
I have seen Arlington cops trying to catch speeders on glebe road travel from route 1 to the mt. vernon/arlington ridge road intersection and back during rush hour. Maybe he was using the trail as to be more disguised? IDK

ParticipantMy favorite part about commuting during the shutdown in the rain is riding past police cruisers enforcing the closure of Jefferson and Madison st smiling, whistling, and this morning giving a big ol’ thumbs up!
My least favorite part about commuting during the shutdown is the super long or never changing light at maine ave and ohio dr sw.
how’s that for a rant?

ParticipantI was late to work and had to pass the bike train on the Custis this morning – sorry!
Also made a friend on a grey bike with grey basketball shorts crossing Key and in Gtown – nice riding with you!

ParticipantMaybe more signage? A map that instructs bicyclists about the alternate route? Enforcement?
These are things I do not know about, but would like to learn about from someone on the forum.
