Agreed – it was a great ride. Many thanks to dasgeh for organizing and leading the way!

Can’t wait to see some pictures/video whenever they’re available.

Also, DaveK – where were you? I saw Mark B. at Gravelly Pt. but didn’t know you were around too.

(I would give you a map, but I can’t find the “link” option in new google maps. Any thoughts? )

If you’re using the new Google Maps, then you just take the link from address bar and send that – they’ve embedded all the info into the webpage address

I’d like to experiment with different ratios, so I’m looking to buy cheap / borrow a track cog or two.

Mine’s sharked and I’m not going to destroy my chain on it. I’m looking for a new-ish / lightly used cog that will mesh well with a new chain, for at or under the $20 cash range.

1/8? I *might* have one. Only problem is that I think my spare is an 18. Will check this evening when I get home.

As a fellow fellow Disc Trucker owner, I too approve this message. You two want to start a gang together?

but Bilsko and I are on the Cinelli gang

Now I just need to figure out how to ride both bikes at the same time. And I’m not talking about ghost-riding one – that won’t cut it.

Awwwww yeah BOY! Finally, after years of getting picked last on the kickball team, karma comes around my way.

    1. I’m waiting with bated breath to see more pics – please post already
    2. I like my CX bike dirty and go out of my way to find mud

    1. If I can ride it this evening, I’ll take a few more shots, otherwise I’m gonna go all paparazzi on it on the MVT tomorrow morning.
    2. Agreed, I love the look of the Disc Trucker with Jackson Pollack splotches of Towpath red. But the new bike is *so* clean…the rims are *so* black, that I’m having a hard time with this one guys.

I bought my Disc Trucker at City Bikes in Chevy Chase (blocks away from me) earlier this summer, but also found the folks at BicycleSpace very helpful to talk to, though they didn’t have any LHTs or Disc Truckers in my size in the store, and it was going to take some weeks to get one built up to test, since they were undergoing some reorganization at the shop…
…The Konas and Bianchis are pretty sweet too, but I fell for the Surly’s long wheelbase, touring geometry, and steel feel. It also has a good mix of components in the factory build.

As a fellow Disc Trucker owner, I approve this message.
(Although you wouldn’t know it was a Disc Trucker, or a Surly, or that Fatties Fit Fine, by the way the decals peel off)

My morning commute was my first, hopefully of many. Pretty uneventful until the last mile and a giant hole on long bridge drive that caused my bars to rotate downward and a front flat.

Better to take the Long Bridge Drive trail or EADS to the pentagon? I am done with Long Bridge Drive.

Yeah, LBD is awful right now, but it looks like they’re getting pretty close to getting the repaving started. Hopefully in the next few weeks we’ll have a nicely paved road to ride on.

Let’s go get it dirty. :D

I was going to ride it to work today, but then I saw that it’s supposed to rain this afternoon, which would mean my new bike would get dirty. I’m not doing this right, am I?

So Awesome – I grew up in Richmond, IN – very near route 40. In fact, some of my first bike rides were along the sidewalk where it cuts through Richmond.

What street does that cycletrack run along? I want to ride there the next trip I make to NYC.

That’s the West Side Highway…looking south toward Tribeca/ WTC.

Where on MacArthur are you refering to? – They’ve repaved sections in DC recently – are you thinking of further out in MD?

Is the lungavita the pinarello one or is that the colnago…I forget.
They’re both beautiful FGs. Dave at FCC1 has the colnago and its gorgeous.
