Would it be winning or losing if the boss said, “Nice bike! Can I try it out?”
“Sorry, frame’s too big for you.”

CCBID gives out front blinkies with their own logo on them.
Good to know – I just hope they stock the machine with them so I don’t have to wait till the light give-away events.

Participantbikearlingtonforum.com works.
washingtonareabikeforum (or whatever it is) gets blocked. Not sure how the company manages white lists/black lists – I imagine they just subscribe to 3rd party lists or they have keyword filters they apply.
I wouldn’t mind using the Tapatalk app to access, but functionality is so limited that its kind of a pain.

FYI–this is a Phoenix Bikes/Crystal City BID project. I’m sure both of those organizations would enjoy your comments and suggestions.
I know that BA usually gives the BA blinky lights away for free, but have you guys considered stocking the machine with a pair of front and back blinkies and charging something really low just to recoup transaction costs? $2 for a pair or something like that. I am always in need of those blinkies. Heck, I’d buy a few pairs just to be able to hand out to ninjas that I see along the trails.
(And I understand that its not really a BA effort – just thought you might be able to coordinate with Phoenix and CCBID on it)

Any thoughts on how this is going to be advertised in the area so cyclists know it is there? I’m sure NPS won’t allow a sign on the MVT, so perhaps a sandwich board at the entrance to the tunnel ramp (but who would put it up/take it down every day?) or perhaps a better paint job of the vending machine itself so that it says “BIKE STUFF HERE”.
.How does Bikenetic get away with their sign on the W&OD? I know its NVRPA instead of NPS, but perhaps the same contractual mechanisms could be applied?

In good news, I’ve learned that I should be fine taking my bike right up into my office with me.
Boss just walked in and either didn’t notice my bike or gives precisely zero f#%#$^cks. Either way, I win.

Between posting here and staring at your bike, how are you going to get any work done?
I’d ‘Like’ this post, but ef’in javascript doesn’t work on the work-laptop’s Internet Explorer* – heck, I’m lucky the forum has two separate web addresses because one of them is blocked!
As it is, I’ve positioned the bike behind my monitor – its a good and bad thing that I can’t see it.
*Internet Explorer, the Number One browser for downloading other browsers.

ParticipantGot to wave hello to Mike E. on the 14th St bridge and then to Kathy on the MVT. Maybe I should throw in a HP lap on the way in more often (if my legs will let me)

Nope, that was me. Then I saw KelOnWheels this morning at Gravelly Point.
Ah! Good to know – you were 2nd or 3rd in a train of riders if I recall so my recognition skills were tested.
I wonder how much my BAFS zipper tags (blue, yellow, and PINK) are visible and recognizable to oncoming riders)Bilsko
ParticipantGreenbelt was that you that waved to me on the MVT by the airport around 5:15 this afternoon? I couldn’t tell for sure and the MVT seems pretty far afield for you.

ParticipantYeah, so of course it doesn’t rain at all today during my commute times – would have been perfect time to spend on the new bike.
In good news, I’ve learned that I should be fine taking my bike right up into my office with me.

1/8? I *might* have one. Only problem is that I think my spare is an 18. Will check this evening when I get home.
Yeah – looks like its an 18 – but sounds like other forum members might have you covered.

Yes, please! Dcv and I were talking about this the other morning at FCCII.
I am so conflicted right now. Allegiance to my FCC1 compatriots… or planning out gravel grinders with the FCC2 crew ‘cross the riva.
