You: Fully kitted Fred on Carbon road bike with race wheels who passed me on Cherrywood lane in Greenbelt at high speed within what felt like inches. You couldn’t call your pass but you could raise your right hand to wave at me after you passed
Me: in the bike lane on my evening commute home from work with reflective panniers and lights on. I was not a part of some imaginary peloton.
Call your damn pass and get over yourself. I’m sure glad I didn’t have to swerve or you would have taken both of us out. I don’t understand why this is so difficult.

…a flash flood warning remains in effect until 1230 pm edt for
    north central prince georges county…

At 1014 am edt…emergency management reported flash flooding from
very heavy rain with multiple water rescues on going. This is a
    particularly dangerous situation.

Up to 4 inches of rain has been reported across portions of the
warned area. Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1 inch can be
    expected.

Locations in the warning include but are not limited to beltsville…
    Bladensburg…cheverly…college park…greenbelt…hyattsville…
    Kettering…landover…laurel…mitchellville…new carrollton…seat
    pleasant…byrd stadium and fedex field.

Most flash flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your
vehicle into areas where water covers the road. Floodwater usually is
deeper than it appears. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the road. Make the smart choice when
flooded roads are encountered…turn around…dont drown.

Chesapeake Tour de Cure. If you’ve even wanted to try a long-distance charity ride, this one may be one of the easiest (flat) and nicest.

Greenbelt, College Park, and Edgewood DC (Met Branch trail) were up and running Friday morning, rain and all. I’d say College Park had the best bike services, Greenbelt was nicest, and Edgewood had the best cookies.

Thanks for taking and posting these great photos Rod. I’m not so good with the iphone while I’m riding. Thanks to everyone who came out to ride with us – good to see Arlingtonrider, Jopamora, Consularrider (who put in over 100 miles today), and of course, Greenbelt (also with over 100 miles today) who is my hero. It was a great day to be out and a thrill to ride down Mass and Penn with a motorcade. So happy that we could support Team 26 as they continue to honor victims of gun violence.

We still don’t have details on timing, but we’re learning a little more about the route… the plan for March 11 is for the riders to go from Baltimore, to Proteus (College Park), then to the National Cathedral, and from there to the Capitol. We were planning to scout the route today, but the trails in our area are still not fit for riding. We hope to try to scout the route this weekend after we get some melting. Will post details as soon as we have them!

I didn’t check the temp before I went out – only a 4 mile commute today so wore 2 wool layers under my gridlock jacket, 2 buffs, liners under my inferno gloves, and long johns under my jeans (nothing more than usual for this winter). Didn’t realize how cold it was till Ben came in with ice hanging from his beard telling me it was 18 when he left his house. Glad I didn’t know!
