ParticipantNot sure if this counts but the Widewater section along the C&O is always dammed between Great Falls and Old Anglers Inn. It’s so wide here that it looks like a lake!

ParticipantGodzilla is big in Japan… and DC too! This is on Q St and there is a fun article in the Post about how it was inspired by a boy. I don’t know what this mural is titled but how appropriate for a sushi place!

A big thank you to your neighbor! I was thinking that having a sign would make it a big more challenging to find since not every place has one. Do they use an equivalent sign in Spain? If not, I’m thinking we could have something in the future for places that we think deserve a sign.

That is a big sign, perhaps commensurate with the no of heroes that work there!

ParticipantAnother ride to the Einstein statue in front of the National Academy of Sciences. I didn’t realize that one of the founders is Lincoln in order to provide scientific advice to the government. In pre-pandemic times they would often host interesting talks to the public. A little bit like a TED talk!

So many great coffee shops to choose from. I thought Potter’s House would be appropriate. They were a crucial gathering point for the civil rights movement. They also provide meals to those who need them. And their coffee is also pretty good!

This is a mural representing what Dupont Circle used to look like. It’s one of my favorites and reminds me of Shakespeare’s, “All the world’s a stage.” Sadly the parking lot is fenced so you can’t admire the mural in its full glory.

ParticipantWormhole #1 – How did the chicken cross Muddy Branch
Not sure if this counts as a wormhole but there is an underpass on Muddy Branch road. It’s part of the Muddy Branch trail but if you aren’t familiar with it isn’t easily visible from the road. It’s a nice way to cross Muddy Branch and it also leads to a shortcut to cut across to Great Seneca either with the trail or on the parallel road.
