#HeroesWorkHere – Do thank you signs count? I love the silhouettes of this random sign found at the corner of Southlawn Ln and Mason Dr in Rockville near collision centers and a Telsa body shop.
Good find! There are a lot more variety of signs than expected. I am amending the rules to count anything that says “heroes” or “thank you.”

1/18/21 – #publicartfinder featuring (or by) a BIPOC
In honor of MLK Day, the mural on the side of Ben’s Chili Bowl featuring 16 African-American heroes by Udofia, a DC-born, Nigerian raised muralist. He also has a few other murals around town which I didn’t realize were by him until now.

Missed you by a day! Was tempted to stop at Bike Lane since it’s so close but stopped at Lake Anne Brew House instead. Will have to go back!

ParticipantThere are a couple of streets in Reston (and DC too) named after scientists and mathematicians. One of them is Michael Faraday Drive off the W&OD. He contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry and has a unit of measure named in his honor.

ParticipantThe reflecting pool at the Capitol Columns in the National Arboretum from Boomer’s title photo. Pretty neat that the pool is fed by the small rivulet running down the steps.

ParticipantScout mural off U St, around 12th and W. I like the mischievous look. There is a short video about the making of the mural and how it could have been inspired by the artist’s fiance’s niece.

Whoa! That’s awesome — incentive to go to Georgetown! Can you be a little more specific as to location?
Sure it’s on O St between 35th and 36th St, a block away from the Georgetown University entrance on O St. Enjoy!

ParticipantThe Great Wave off Kanagawa in Georgetown, based on a famous Japanese woodblock print. I have never been to this mural before so it was nice to see in person. The wave is certainly big!
