    Nothing broken, lots of hand bruising and a puncture wound where my hand hit the bolt for the v break. Pretty bad back muscle strain. Some minor cuts and bruises on my face. I think that face shield i made protected my face. My new wind jacket is now a vest. Could be worse.

    I’m at Fairfax hospital with a self inflicted injury. While biking home with groceries i picked up a leaf in my front wheel. I’ll just brush the outside of the spokes and dislodge the leaf…. Next thing i know my right hand is caught in the spokes and jammed against the fork and i am flying over the handlebars and landing on my face. Still waiting for the results of the xray. I also habe a screaming back ache. Some day I’ll learn to leave well enough alone.

    I heard you yell “freezing saddles!” and yelled back but we were too far apart by the for you to hear. We weren’t a team, we were roving dumpling eaters on an excellent ride lead by Komorebi.

    Did i crash freezingsaddles.org? I was looking at the individual leaderboard (text) and refreshed the page successfully. When i clicked on my name i got an error, something like “internal server..” when I refreshed the page again I got a 502 Bad Gateway nginx error. I was using mobile safari, but I also tried mobile chrome and got the same error. This was at about 12:10 1/30/19.

    It’s a piece of debris that was ground into the rim and covered with aluminum residue from normal braking action. I have to buff it flat and make sure the brake pads are clean.

    Feeling safer because my feet touch the ground but without more tread on the tires I can’t actually ride on the snow. Anybody have some 26”x1.5” knobby tires they want to part with?

    Is FS week Monday-Sunday or Sunday-Saturday? The rules say Monday-Saturday but yesterday (in the middle of the day) the weekly stats on freezingsaddles.org reset to 0.

    Do you have room in your shoes for another insole? I added silk sock liners under my wool riding socks and that helped some. A friend puts hand warmers on top of her feet inside her booties. We both wear pearl izumi insulated booties which are probably warmer than neoprene.

    Woo hoo! Now we have 9 of 10 on the board at freezingsaddles.org and we moved to 5th place (from 14 with 7). Were missing only aabaird. You may need to authorize strava to see private information.

    Liking your post is not quite right. I’m sorry this happened to you and am very glad that you are alive and mobile. I hope your head injury doesn’t cause any lasting probles.
