ParticipantThanks for the correction! Sept. 15 is the date!

ParticipantActually, I don’t get credit for any of this, except perhaps for suggesting that the WTF prefix originated by LSG could stand for a variety of things, with the more common meaning being my favorite.
I believe that Ian and Judd came up with the idea for making this a coffee club venue, Ed suggested Thursdays, and Gina wrote a great post this morning to invite everyone to join us, so all credit goes to them!

ParticipantI’ve been riding those exact same tires since Spring. Love them! No flats so far. (knocks on wood)

ParticipantWe had a big group (at least 20) at happy hour tonight. Many thanks to all who came and made it so much fun!

ParticipantBump up. The weather is great for beer on a patio with friends this afternoon! Just come! @Arlingtonrider 144226 wrote:
Save the date! All are welcome to join us for happy hour on the patio at Capital City Brewing Co. in Shirlington starting around 5 p.m. As usual, it’s helpful to know who plans to come so we can try to save seats. Hope to see you there!

ParticipantI like Crickey7’s post. Buy a reasonably priced bike that you will love riding and a variety of bike locks that you can choose among based on your plans. With care and following the advice in this thread, your bike will probably not get stolen. Register the bike with your county and the National Bike registry and attach their stickers to the bike. Save a copy of the receipt for the bike and a photo with your homeowner’s insurance policy. The more you love your bike, the more you will ride. (Jamis Coda and Jamis Sport are examples of such bikes that might be worth looking at. Also, while used is a great option if you can find something you like, if you buy new, you will have the advantage of a fitting and in some shops, some routine maintenance as well.)

ParticipantWhen I come into town on my good bike and plan to hang out somewhere where I can’t see my bike, I often park in my work building and take bikeshare from there.

ParticipantBumping this up. Dirty Bikeneticrit will be awesome and likely one of the topics of discussion at the happy hour. It would be great if any of the Bikenetic team folks could join us! We’ll also discuss some recent touring adventures and a fun fact about Rootchopper, who is one of the recent tourers.

ParticipantWhat Gibby didn’t mention was that he gave me a nice pull into work today. Many thanks and nice to meet you!

ParticipantHope you’re having a great trip, Steve O! And thanks to all the new and old friends who joined us for happy hour tonight. It was great to see and catch up with everyone. I forgot to take photos, but we had a good sized group enjoying what might be the last pleasant evening for a few days.

ParticipantOn the fence? Come join us! If you let us know you plan to come, we’ll try to save.you a seat!

ParticipantWe’ll be on the shaded part of the patio, and will recognize you right away! Glad you can make it!

ParticipantI really wish a bike lane could be added to South Glebe between Mt. Vernon Avenue and Route 1 – especially before the planned year-long closure of the adjacent part of Four Mile Run Trail. No such plan is in the works, though, as far as I know.

I plan on coming, but I have a work field trip that day and won’t be back at the office until at least 4:30pm, so it’ll probably be 6pm by the time I get to HH.
No problem. It’ll be great to see you!
