At the very least, I think his workout would have been tainted.
I’ll show myself out.
Only if he sticks it through to the end…

GCGF is a fantastic ride. I would do that again over any other organized ride/race I have done to date. The scenery is just fantastic and the climbs (and the descents) are epic. What a blast. 16.5k feet in 120ish miles is pretty phenomenal. Highly recommend.
Were would you place it in relation to Mountains of Misery? MoM has the added benefit of a trip to Blacksburg, but then again, I never need a reason to return to Blacksburg.

Because the alternative of just not biking 30 miles a day for a week is just too horrible to contemplate?

ParticipantI have just under 4k on the 10 spd tiagra my bike came with and the only time I’ve ever touched the adjustments is when replacing the cassette and it wouldn’t surprise me if I actually de-tuned it by touching the adjusters

I do think we should provide extra points (double points?) for team group rides … (We can track those in Strava.)
If getting team members together is a goal, then I think this is a great idea

I know, I know that every locking method is defeatable, but I always try to get some part of the frame in the lock. Doing just the tire allows someone to get away with the frame undamaged. If they’re taking my bike, at least it’ll be broken-er (and dangerous for them to ride
)
about half the time whatever I’m trying to lock up to I can’t fit inside my U-lock with the frame, but can get with the wheel. Even more frustrating is when that doesn’t fit either.

ParticipantSeveral folks have posted about cables rubbing against the bell; that cut out space in the mount is meant for cables to fit under:

With all of the lights I use* (two red BA blinkies on the rear of my helmet with brand new batteries so they’re so bright they’ll sear your retinas thank you SteveO, a steady red light on my seat post, two spoke lights on each wheels in pink and blue, wrap-around frame light in hot pink, flashing arm bands in neon blue and finally my front light) plus all of the reflective stuff I wear (ankle bands, stickers on my helmet, stickers on my fenders, stickers on my saddle bag, stickers on my backpack, reflective hang tag on backpack) PLUS that light-up jacket, there is no way anyone could say “I didn’t see you” with a straight face if it’s dark out.
I look almost radioactive I’m so lit up.

Do aircraft ever try to follow you when you ride through Gravelly Point?

Apparently if KNOG has anything to do with it, the bell’s function as a signaling device is secondary to swoopy dee-zign. Mine is pretty worthless in garnering any sort of attention from other trail users. Stick with boring old Incredibells or $$$purCycle. Or, make Jan Heine warm and fuzzy and get some fancy Japanese brass bell crafted by Shaolin Monks.
While adequate, I do wish the striker was stiffer and like every other bell I’ve tried, they don’t work in the rain.
I would not say they’re the best bells ever, but I haven’t found either my large or small Oi bell dissappointing.

Dang, we’re talking about helmet covers, just as I’m finally getting my Lumos helmet (which definitely shouldn’t be covered)?

I leave a rear light on my helmet and it’s quite visible when lit even under my rain cover.
