Participant2/17/24 PSALM
A portion of PSALM 19 is inscribed on the North wall of the Lincoln Memorial. This is within the text of Lincoln’s Second Inaugural Address
(Highlighting was done with my phone at home. I didn’t color the marble!)

Participant2/15/24 ASCOT
On the day after Valentine’s Day, I was expecting to find myself at a tuxedo rental place trying on an ASCOT. Instead, I’m first in line at the return counter of ASCOT Diamonds. ðŸ˜ðŸ’”💎

Red Shouldered Hawk uses her TALONs to snatch mice, frogs, snakes, and other birds.
Thanks to the staff at Potomac Overlook Regional Park for keeping these great raptors for educational purposes!

ParticipantI was disappointed that there’s no nuclear reactor nearby for a photo. My favorite “SCRAM” is the emergency shutdown for a nuclear reactor.
If the reaction is going critical, they insert control rods to slow it down. The acronym “Safety Control Rod Axe Man” is because in the first nuclear reactor pile ( U Chicago) a guy with an axe literally stood ready to cut a rope that would drop control rods into the chamber to prevent runaway fission.

Participant2/13/24 SCRAM
If you grew up with Sesame Street, you know Oscar the Grouch’s catch phrase was “SCRAM!”
Of course SCRAM has left the vernacular, so the label just says “go away”. Less linguistically satisfying…
And of course he’s far too cute as a plush doll… but special thanks to the wonderful staff at Kinderhaus toys in Clarendon for helping me out with this one.

Participant@DCAKen , if only the Ravens had made it to the Superbowl. This would have been an epic choice for today. But alas, quoth the Ravens: “Next year”.

They don’t want to advertise what the F stands for. It isn’t healthy.
And according to rumors, they’re no longer legally allowed to call the food “Chicken”, either.
So, acronym only.

Participant2/8/24 PLACE
The PLACEmark icon is used by the Ballston BID to promote Ballston. It’s clearly also used by PLACEMakr in their logo, as seen in the background.
Note: Makr is an anagram of Mark. And the company is a corporate version of Airbnb, turning apartments into hotel rooms.

Participant2/7/24 AFTER
Just AFTER noon, when the sun was at its highest point, I pointed my camera at it. My Garmin blocked the sun, allowing a view of what my Garmin shows me AFTER my morning commute. (As well as verifying the time was just AFTER noon)
