ParticipantNice. And here’s me planning to go by Target on the way home tomorrow so I can try them out.

ParticipantI’m so happy about this! Went to check it out tonight. Bicycling on the protected part felt much more relaxed than on the previous bike lane right next to traffic.
It’s only 0.4 miles but it feels like the beginning of something beautiful!

ParticipantEvery time I’ve been by, Dominoes is parked in the bike lane.
Cattle chutes aren’t good if you’re a cow.

I’m really surprised about that but then again I’m unclear as to the layout of these PBLS.
I’ve never seen a vehicle parked in the PBLs in Pentagon City but then again there are only a few openings for entrance/exit which may not be the case for the Wilson Blvd PBLs.

Yep. Here he is. Not only blocking the lane but also partially blocking the driveway.
I went in and told the crew there that I had just photographed the car and was sending the photos to the Arlington police. One of them dashed out.

Awesome. I’ll email you 30 minutes before I ever have to use that lane so you can clear the lane for me. Like Smokey and the Bandit.

ParticipantTried out the new protected bike lane on my way home from work tonight. What a hoot on an ebike. More direct route home, just 35 minutes from Foggy Bottom going up hill. Love it. More please.

ParticipantTook Wilson Boulevard PBL coming home from work on Monday at 1pm. There is extensive utility work taking place, pedestrians are walking on the section of PBL between Rosslyn Highlands Park and N Quinn Street. There is an edge where uneven piles of temporary asphalt meet the cut road surface running right down the center of the PBL, it’s uncomfortable to ride on. At two points utility works close one then two of the three traffic lanes and the bike lane obliging you to ride uphill in the traffic lane. In the 15 minutes I rode between Rosslyn and Ballston I had to ride out into the traffic lane to pass delivery vehicles parked in the bike lane 8 times I was glad the traffic at lunchtime is lower than during rush hour.
I’ll take Key Blvd from Rosslyn to Clarendon until they sort out the mess.
