Just in case it’s real bad have stops identified to allow you to do four 15 minute segments.

May not be an issue as my wife is attempting to pull the “you’re crazy therefore I’m in charge card.” If that occurs, then I will be sadly posting a semi-sleaze ride to ensure Sloppy Seconds gets at least a few points.

So if there’s a 15 mph wind from the west and I’m heading east at 15 mph, that means there will be no wind chill.

Although not explicitly stated, the spirit of The Rules forbids tailwind equillibrium. You must always ride faster than the tailwind.

So for the ride home, one heading southeast must acheive 19mph given that’s the current wind direction from the nnw. (I’m sure at Gravelly Point, this is somehow reversed to be a 30mph wind coming from the south).

Actually, Terpfan, You (and ALL your Sloppy Seconds teammates) would be much happier (and safer) if you decide, right now, to just to stay home or drive to work tomorrow. You need your rest anyway–all those stupid trips and miles you guys have been doing! You deserve a day off, and let me be the first to say, “I care about you guys, and I think you should just take it easy and quit riding so much!”

Some area jurisdictions have closed schools for tomorrow, but not the close-in areas (like Arlington, Fairfax, Montgomery or Prince George’s).

What about swimming across Lake Superior while wearing a Speedo? That would definitely earn you some Tough Guy Points. (However, I’m not sure what would happen to certain… “parts” afterward.)

But the Feds are open (so far). I guess that’s ok, my wife has to go to language class early since they are celebrating Ukrainian Christmas.

I really don’t understand the point of a two-hour delay. So it will be -8 instead of -10 degrees?

I got home at 10:15. The temp read 16, and I was quite comfortable the whole way from Vienna into falls Church. Admittedly, there was a huge tailwind the whole way, but I’m somewhat encouraged for tomorrow.

I also think Sloppy Seconds needs a break from all that tiresome pedaling, and the cold will only make their efforts more grueling. (Go 7 Samurai!)

The forecast is a few degrees warmer now than it was early this afternoon. I don’t know if a -9 wind chill is much different from a -11 wind chill, but I’m similarly encouraged for tomorrow. When I head to the gym at 6am tomorrow I might take that back.

5F now. The wind will pick up and taper off by evening.

Tomorrow morning will still be sub 20F but minimal wind. Back up to the low 50s this weekend! (With rain on Saturday.)
