A little more snow on Friday night/Sat. morning. Maybe an inch or two. Rain or snow on Monday night.

But 60F next Thursday? That would be awesome.

65F on Friday? Chance of rain, but I’ll take it.

These arrived yesterday. 54, 58 and 63 degrees on Wed, Thurs and Fri. My hypothesis has been validated.

You should have bought the boots in December, to head off the polar vortex.

They weren’t on sale then :)

And here I thought it was my new boots that did it!

Awesome. Yeah, I have the non-Arctic versions of these as well and love them (the Northwave shoes fit me well); I am excited to try these warmer ones. I am hoping for comfort at least into the 20s. (But am happy to have helped dbb ward off such temps with our purchases!)

I just took my new Lake shoes out for an inaugural ride and they are going to be dead-of-winter shoes. At 37F with thin socks my feet were toasty. Could have used them last month.

I like that they’re called Artic instead of Arctic, like Northwave wants one to think of very cold weather without risking a false advertisement suit.

That is hilarious — I hadn’t noticed. I also love their “Explosive Bikers” slogan. What is that supposed to mean? Silly Italians. :)

Hang that tag on your saddle to discourage silent wheel suckers. (not that you get many that could hang on for very long)

Looking into the north wave boots for next season. For some reason envisioned MTN bike type boot looking shoes.

It is a good time to find boots on sale — and Peter White may have studded tires on sale soon too? (I know when I bought mine it was end of season and all of the tires were 40% off.)

I was considering upgrading to some larger tires, bit I decided this winter that 32mm studded tires work just fine on the worst that the w&od has to offer in the way of ice ruts. And roll a bit faster on the pavement.
